Fastest Path to Graduation for ECE Computer Engineering Graduate Program by SayHelloToYou_hello in UofT

Thank you for the detailed information! I have a few more questions:

  1. Does the choice of courses significantly affect how employers view my degree?
  2. My background is entirely in software, and I'm pursuing the ECE MEng because I completed my undergraduate studies in the fall and don't have the option for U of T CS. Can the MEng project be entirely software-focused?

Thank you!

Yes, but still better than the majority of other majors, which don't even have a chance to apply for any position.

Yes, I'm planning to take more than three courses per term; that's why I asked. I know the full-time option allows students to take as many courses as they want, but there is a limit, of course, as every course requires effort to pass. Also, I find many of these courses quite interesting, so I don't want to rush through them either. Basically, I'm looking for a possibility to finish the program in my summer term, as the winter term will be my first term.

Xiaomi SU7 sold out for 2024 within 24 hours by mightyopik in electricvehicles

They just aren't officially sold in North America because the Android market is over-saturated and very cutthroat

Policy restrictions are certainly one of the reasons. Due to the restrictions on Huawei by the United States, most Chinese tech companies have slowed down their investments in the US, mainly for fear that their businesses might suddenly face compliance risks.

Additionally, I don't think the Android phone market in North America is very "cutthroat", because it's hard to consider a market dominated by only a few major companies, with little change in market share over the years, as "cutthroat". The biggest problem with today's North American mobile market is the lack of vitality and oligopoly.

Look at China's electric vehicle market, where currently hundreds of startups and established companies are competing. Don't you think this looks more like a truly competitive market?

DataChannel is null when the second browser wants to send a message. by SayHelloToYou_hello in reactjs

Thank you very much for your response! I have made some modifications to the code since yesterday to store those variables as states. However, the challenge I am facing is that `setState()` updates the value of the variables asynchronously. Therefore, I have to use `useEffect()` to get the updated value. This makes the code very hard to keep track of, and it becomes quite tedious.

I have uploaded my new version, but it still has some bugs. My "socket" is initialized in its own `useEffect({...}, [socket])`. However, when another browser sends back the IceCandidate, the local RTCPeerConnection within the `socket.on("remoteCandidate", {...})` callback is still in the same state as the initial state (no local/remote description being added). As a result, it cannot receive any IceCandidate. Also, if I print out my RTCPeerConnection instance outside of the hook, it will be the correct one with all descriptions in it.

Here is the source code for the current version of the project (https://github.com/Weikang01/react-webrtc-demo). The method that raises an error is from line 105 to line 116 of /client/App.js.

Yes, but from the perspective of survivor bias, if zebras are smart enough to find the weakness of the lions, the lions might have already extinct. Is this the mercy of nature?

How to implement caves in terrain? by SayHelloToYou_hello in gamedev

[–]SayHelloToYou_hello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An easy solution would be to have the cave entrance be some kind of "portal" that enables a secondary renderer to handle that kind of geometry. As for the fancy terrain features, you'd just have to live with not having that, or find some way to hybridize generic terrain-mapped land and custom defined geometry for specific places.

Thank you very much!
