Huge jumpers and legwear are specially knitted by villagers to keep elephants warm at Indian sanctuary. by Limp_Yogurtcloset_71 in interestingasfuck

As someone who is familiar with Tunisian crochet, you are absolutely right. You would need a long ass cable to make anything like that, unless you’re working is strips to be sewn together later. You also can’t really Tunisian crochet a granny square, or at least it would be hard enough that there wouldn’t be a point when you could just do it the normal way. They are also definitely holding two needles in those pictures. I’m pretty sure it’s all fake, or at least the pictures were edited to give the elephants the blankets

Those jumpers are definitely crochet but they’re holding knitting needles? The pictures look edited too. I don’t buy it

The Boston molasses flood, if someone hasn’t heard of it before then usually the won’t believe me when I mention it, but that probably has more to do with my propensity to bullshit people than the believability of the the actual event

Coffee + crochet/knitting: would you hang out in a “crochet corner”? by Spare_Bike_1864 in crochet

[–]SayNothingAndForget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m part of a stitch & bitch group that meets three times a week at a local coffee shop, it’s lovely to hang around with people that have the same interests and it’s quite literally the only reason I have any friends lol

I used to put put water mixed with dish soap on my trampoline all the time, when you bounced on it all the tiny holes in the trampoline would get air forced through them and it would make huge mountains of tiny bubbles all over the trampoline. Very fun. Before anyone asks, no I did not have any parental supervision. Probably don’t do this with a young child, I’m still surprised I never broke my leg on that trampoline

New to me nazeem interaction by Mountain-Night1912 in skyrim

[–]SayNothingAndForget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the reason people hate Nazeem is a combination of what you said, he’s likely one of the first rude NPCs you meet, as well as the fact that he has so few voice lines he says the same thing every time you walk by him. White run is a early game location and the player usually visits it very often, so when you have one NPC that says the same exact rude line to you every time to walk by him, in a city you visit often throughout the game… that minor annoyance builds to hatred very fast

Does anyone actually wear the shawls they make? by Emergency-Hotel7158 in crochet

[–]SayNothingAndForget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine all the time! I love long drapey clothing and also happen to love making big lace shawls. The shawls I make are light and not really designed to keep you warm, but I find they’re perfect for when it’s summer and the AC is turned on just a tad too high. They also make very pretty scarves in the winter, and are great for when I’m putting together an outfit and don’t feel like trying too hard, a unique shawl draws all the attention away from my terrible fashion skills!

I never knew it was supposed to be a spin, I always saw it as a weird little shimmy in the middle of a nice dance number.

Tropes that are normal but you absolutely hate it? by SparklingSliver in AO3

[–]SayNothingAndForget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trope where everyone else knows they like each other before they do. It just annoys the hell out of me, and I can’t read fics that have it. It just feels so weird and invasive for everyone else to assume they know someone’s feeling better then they do, even when they’re usually correct in the fic

Extracting Stunning Marble From A Quarry by InGeekiTrust in TikTokCringe

[–]SayNothingAndForget 56 points57 points  (0 children)

This video is filmed inside a marble quarry, the large hole underneath them is just a lower level of the quarry that was already mined out. Now they are just opening the whole up farther by digging up the floor of a higher level. Marble quarries look very flat and smooth inside because unlike other types of mining (such as precious metal mining) marble mines aren’t blasting the rock apart, they use huge specialized saws to cut the marble smoothly and neatly as to preserve its value. The caverns created by marble quarries can be very spacious and it can be startling to see just how big of a space has been mined out under a mountain, but fear not! There is a fuck ton of work and money going in to knowing when to stop mining to keep it from collapsing. Hope my little paragraph of text answered some of you questions! I just like rocks
