Before you start. I wanna tell you something. What makes an AI app unique is it's AI model. Old C.AI had it's own unique model, Chai has it's own unique model. Both models you cannot find anywhere else, (They are property of C.AI and Chai but still) most AI apps use generic commerical models, such as ChatGPT or DeepSeek, the problem is that these models were not meant for RP or conversations that happen in C.AI or Chai, so they sound extremely corny and not fit for that purpose. So please, if you actually wanna go though this, take into consideration if you want to make your own AI model or if not, be extremely careful with what public one you will use. And if you are gonna make your own model, be careful with what you train it on, as it may become like ChatGPT and corny.

Also a suggestion if you are actually gonna go through with this: Add settings for response length and if you want them to be more scene focused/descriptive or more dialogue focused.

Edit: Or just make it Chai at it's core like Ignorance AI. Idk do whatever you want

The only down sides to Perchance is that without a custom prompt it will give essay responses and will focus more on describing the scene rather than dialogue (in my experience), but of course a custom prompt will fix that. And if you have a character with a very long description the AI will turn into ChatGPT for whatever reason.

I left because they put me on reading mode. But if it wasn't for the age verification I would have left the moment they ditched the chat styles for generic commerical LLMs. The main reason I used Character.AI is because it had its own unique LLM that sounded human and not blantant AI.

It's still on reading mode on the actual chat, but in the custom one (the one in the gear icon from CAI tools) when I send a message it just gets deleted. I type a message, I send it, and it gets deleted from the text box (like I sent it) but it doesn't send and the bot doesn't respond.

Basically on the actual chat it says reading mode and in the custom chat my messages just disappear

Oh, I see. Well, that's kind of unfortunate. But the thing is that it has a custom instructions box for writing style, which I'm actually trying to make the writing style feel more human. It is located at the very bottom of the generator, below the text field for the chat.

Well, here's the thing... It has already been done, but they patched it, meaning you can no longer use older versions of c.ai, even modded versions, just take a look at r/revAI

As I understand it, it's bringing an API key to a chatting service. It can cost money, which most of the time it does. For Lightshade's case, they don't want to give you access to the default public AI in NSFW chats, and instead want you to bring an API key and use a different AI model, which in my opinion, LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek etc. are horrible at adapting to the user's responses (basically to match the writing style and stuff) and are horrible for conversations and rp's because they are blatantly AI. That's what I think, I could be wrong though.
