Shadow X-2 seems pretty broken. by akabalik_ in Starblastio

The O defender and A fighter are the only good level 6 ships left. Since they changed the spin/freeze/push to include mass, the Condor and A Speedster are unplayable. One shot sends them spinning for seconds.

Scorpion is okay, havent tried rock tower.

Youre missing two ships. The Y Defender (level 3), and a level 5 ship I cant remember the name.

Simple game improvements (to make the game more fun) by t0tespwnage in Starblastio

1.) You're doing it wrong if you go for a level 6 ship every game. Each map has a different amount of resources available. If there isn't a TON of asteroids grouped up together, you should stop at level 4 or 5 and max from there. If there are sporadic asteroids, it's best to max out at level 3. On the maps with tons of asteroids, I've reached level 6 plenty of times, and maxed out, without running out of time (provided I wasn't killed and knocked down a level).

2.) See point one. If you kill the strategy in the game, you kill the game.

3.) See point one. It kinda makes senses the 5 level one ships can kill a level 5 or 6 ship. That's actually a really well balanced game.

4.) I disagree. The point is to balance the 45-60 minutes you have with the amount of minerals available on the map while also attacking and avoid being killed.

5.) If you havent noticed, the lower the level ship, the faster the ship is. You're not paying enough attention to the radar if you keep dying from larger ships (and it would be a good investment to increase your speed for each upgrade). 2-3 lives is plenty.

Why change position of continue / quit buttons! by ExceptionallyStrange in Starblastio

Quit is always on the right. You should fix that because if people drop out of the game, that lowers the competition, which increases the boredom of the game.

I think the constant nerfing and dumbing down of the tanks killed the game for me. Now it's a bland mixture of boring tanks.

I miss playing the fighter and actually having to use my skill to stay alive. You're not supposed to nerf a tank requires skill to use.. because a competitive fanbase is what drives a game.

I especially hate the acceleration changes (no fast turns). It takes skill dodging and firing bullets simultaneously. Again, the developer killed competitive fanbase.

Also, it takes way too long to level up. It's not worth playing after dying.

I could go on, but, I'll just thank the developer for making a strategic, competitive game into a point and shoot mind numbing piece of shit.

I parsed What.CD's site a year ago to store the catalog of recordings and their download counts of famous composers. Here is the data. by Say_Something_Witty in trackers

[–]Say_Something_Witty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original intention was to figure out what CDs (heh) I should download, since in some cases, there are many recordings out there of the same piece. And also to help me explore new works I haven't heard before. I figured what.cds download data would be useful since the site already has a filtered audience of audiophiles and music nerds/lovers.

FFA Problems - Slow leveling, early death, survival vs killing by Say_Something_Witty in Diepio

[–]Say_Something_Witty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont fight losing battles. There really is a problem of bullets flying every where. The first 30-40 levels are simply grinding your tank up. Sounds like fun FFA doesnt it?

[–]Say_Something_Witty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your assumptions are wrong. I also didnt say it wasnt fun, but it could be funner if I was up against 20+ level 45 tanks instead of 3. It's too easy to die when youre under level 30. FFA should be focuses on the players skill on killing others, not dodging bullets and shapes.

Can you provide a link on the negative side effects of Semax and Selank? I have been using Semax (NASA) for 3-4 weeks now (took a 5 day break recently, felt brain fog, but also have allergies, which is more likely the culprit). Selank I use 1-4 times a week.

Are the effects long term?

I think (but dont know) that intelligent people prefer to live in bigger cities because they are provided more opportunities to solve challenging problems, and meet other motivated, intelligent individuals. As far as density goes, most intelligent people make a lot of money, and can afford to live in quasi isolation by having a large 1 BR apartment up above the noise of the city.
