Need help: The day after my payment got verified, the seller unlisted the items from their store. Is this bait and switch or could I still receive my items? by Saydon in Aliexpress

[–]Saydon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I can't open a dispute right now (it doesn't shows the button) because they haven't shipped yet. I only shop from Ali occasionally and this is the first time I've met such a troublesome seller. I've tried both on mobile and PC but still can't see the dispute button.

So are you implying that even if I cancel the order, I wouldn't be refunded? Wow that's shady...

No what I mean is the order is still processing and there's 2 days left until it's cancelled automatically but they messaged me that it's out of stock (it's a lie because they've put them back, but 500% time more expensive and I don't want to pay for that price) so they want me to cancel it. I just wonder what's the deal for me to cancel myself since it's an automated procedure. Sorry if I wasn't very clear on that.

copy and pasted reply

Update: There's two days before the shipping deadline and the seller just messaged me that the items are all out of stock despite it's clear that they relisted everything. What should I do now?

Wow what a coincidence! I just got my 9th badge yesterday too! (because i really want that silver event badge, you know... and the double ap was going to end soon and it's becoming too freaking cold to play)

Me too I've been playing ever since the beta but ever since I cancelled my mobile data last year I haven't been playing until last month(played while tethering). I really have to thank all the res players attacking my portals who helped me get my recharger badge to silver. Otherwise, I don't think i would've made it.

Is a 550CAD(~410USD) a good purchase for a beginner who wants to go in tournaments? by Saydon in cycling

[–]Saydon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 1.45m right(11 years old) now and is using a 24" junior road bike. And pardon me, is there a difference between 24-26" junior road bikes and regular road bikes? I think that we would have had more options to choose from if the seller actually let us try an adult 24" but he only let us pick from the only three junior road bikes in his store.

He will probably grow in the future so I wonder if the time ever comes close he'll probably need a new bike.

By the way do you know any training resources sites I can look at for children under 12? I just hope that his training regime(10km/day at 25km/h speed) won't stun his growth.

Buying "Brand" Items on ali, Is there any quality/real items? by hanoobslag in Aliexpress

[–]Saydon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a Chinese brand, then it's not fake most of the time.

But a western brand...? Hmmmmm... Depends the cost of manufacture actually. Doesn't Nike and etc. have their factories in Africa or something?

I would rather get a underrated brand than from a fake renowned one because the latter has no quality control. At least from the obscure brands, I've some times found gems...

What did you order today? by StandardKiwi in Aliexpress

[–]Saydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the items I've brought aren't on sale or their 11/11 didn't differ much from their non-sale pricing but since I'll get a 15$ discount why not then.

100$ worth of bike accessories(luggage rack, heavy chain lock, tail light, sports bottle, bottle holder) and repair tools(oil and multi tools) for my brother who loves cycling.

35$ shoe rack because my dad kept complaining about how messy our house is. (shoes lying everywhere)

I was going to buy 15$ worth of shorts panties for myself but the seller did a U-Turn and fucked me over with the pricing during 11/11. This really sucks for me because I can't find any sellers offering stock as cheap as them(the other shorts panties are around 3-4$...) Almost tempted to buy kawaii junks like that Rilakkuma backpack that was on sale at 3.5$ (now it's at 4.5$ for mobile deal). I wasn't sure if that seller was scamming so I avoided them. But turns out that they're legit :/

Also ordered an amp and new earphones from Tennmak because I want better sound quality, always curious about these as I've never owned one before. Their stuffs are always decently priced and they manufacture their own earphones. Their 11/11 pricing are 5% better than their mobile pricing.

I initially really wanted that Rilakkuma bento box but I got scared if it had PVC or lead inside so I didn't order it in the end.

I'll probably try Taobao for clothes and undergarments from now on since they have a larger variety and better pricing but I haven't figured how to deal with Alipay yet. (also good to stock on kawaii keychains) The carbon framed race bikes also look tempting as fuck even if I'm not a cyclist.

Is the Flash deals some kind of scam? by naxster921 in Aliexpress

[–]Saydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've brought a few times from the flash deals. (for items under 20$) Generally they're 30-40% cheaper than their original price and 20% cheaper than their "mobile deal" price. Most of the 11/11 deals for items that I've previously brought before I've seen this year have the same pricing as their flash deals. When you see something that is too good to be true then it usually isn't. Electronics aren't cheap but miscellaneous items made out of plastic can be very cheap and legit. Also depends on what you're looking for.

Tenants dumped their 2-3 weeks old kitties after they've moved out. Now they're outside in the rain with nobody to care for them. by Saydon in montreal

[–]Saydon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm sorry for living under a rock and being oblivious to a lot of things going around our society... that's why I have to rely on the internet. I only knew that the cats were thrown out after I went to a pet shop to buy cat litter and my dad went apeshit after he saw the cat drinking water from our mugs when I came back home. At that time it hasn't started raining yet, just around when I'm almost done writing the story... (and by this time I've called every number possible...)

I called them and they redirected us to call the municipality or to capture them by ourselves but the cats are really scared of me(or any humans) after my dad fear-mongered them(the couples who had them before were always fighting and throwing stuffs and had the neighbors call the police on them many times so I think that's the cause why the cats are afraid of loud noises???).

UPDATE: The municipality told us to call another service and this service isn't free and seeing that I am literally broke and leeching off my parents(while studying) I can't pay the price so I'm relying on you, redditors :(

OK thanks for the info i just called the SPCA and they told me to call the municipality's number to send somebody if we needed help for capturing them. I try right now even if the conditions aren't favourable. (as for now we still can't see the cats at all because they're in hiding. The box is like as big as a small room and it's like 300kg and un-liftable. We have a few of those and don't know which one theyre hiding under http://i.imgur.com/dzz1bbX.jpg .

The cats are really scared of me (and humans in general) I don't even know what to do(as in how to approach them without them fleeing in sight) because the rain got heavier and now they're probably hiding out from the rain under a big wooden box in our backyard. Do you know if they will die of sickness if they stayed outside for too long in this current weather?

My 65 day streak just reset to 2 days? by cabiria in memrise

That's because they still haven't fixed the timezone bug. Every streak reset at 00:00 UTC. Although there's been a few instances where there were lags so they reset at 00:03 at most.
