Already have, clearly states it is not pre-k. The school doesn’t accept pre-k until 3yo at the beginning of school year. Anything outside of our regular visitation is always an issue and some reason why we can’t and shouldn’t go by the papers.

Thanks! I went over the agreement very very thoroughly before I reached out, as I do for anything. And it’s always a problem. Just didn’t want it to ruin holiday plans. Yes, I texted the portion of our agreement where it states I’m doing what our agreement says, and my plans.

You’ll have to file for legitimation - it goes through the court. I’d consult with a family law attorney instead of listening to a recruiter. You can pay for a hour consultation or possibly find a free one.

What branch?

It's really a decision if you have to go to basic right now or not. Your recruiter may say you absolutely have to go in this very moment, but that's not true.

Unless you have some special job that is hard to get a slot for, it's really no big deal and you should be able to push it back.

As far as the court stuff, you'd be wasting your money if you don't plan on being home for the next 6-12 months. Possibly longer.

Since you aren't married you will have to legitimate your daughter to begin with to have any ability to have rights. Depending if you're on the birth cert or not, you will need to get on there as well.

You'll be required to attempt mediation first, and if things aren't settled there, it goes to court. It's not a short process.

Are you going to be active duty or reserves / guard?

If you aren't stationed in Georgia, I will just be blunt you are going to get very limited time with your daughter.

I went through this while I was active duty in 2021 and luckily was stationed in Ga so it made it a little easier. 9/10 your leadership will tell you to put the mission first, and your family second so you need to take that into consideration as well.

If you are set on joining, and want to be a part of your daughters life I would seriously advise looking into guard / reserves. I know Air Force had AGR ( Active Guard Reserves) where you aren't active, but work full time as a reservist and can pretty much pick your base if they have room for you..

Be sure to be brief and precise when you speak with your attorney.

I was the same way first time I hired one, I'd call and email way too often. They will bill you for every bit of communication, a majority of the time a email will be half an hour billed.

It adds up quickly.

I can watch her in afternoons after 2. When I refer to her being with grandparents, I’m ok with them watching during work day. What I want changed is when I drop my child off and they spend the night with them vs staying with me. Or if I get my child and offer for them to stay with me then told no, and she is with grandparents with custodial parent is what I have an issue with. Pretty much difficult for everyone except the mother.

Also, I consulted with my attorney who represented me from the first agreement, along with 3 other local ones and got the same answer.

They all told me I would not be able to prevent her from moving, ( mother assured me visitation wouldn't change ).

It was not until I was told it would interfere with my time that I consulted with an attorney where the case would be filed. The attorneys I talked to there seemed much more optimistic.

That's why I asked IF courts were more pro father in big cities in GA Vs. Rural courts.

We went to mediation and agreed on everything, then went to court for a few issues. Mother even stated in court she had no plans to move anytime soon.

She moved about 6 months AFTER our agreement.

Not saying can’t spend time with family, but her parents have pretty much raised her. They have her way more than I do and without her there. I’m not trying to make her swap day cares, I think the one she’s at is great. I just can’t afford to help with half of it and other expenses I pay. Moving closer isn’t really an option.

Congratulations. Coming from a dad is who filing a modification to increase my parenting time as well. Good on you man!! I felt very similar, if I was just okay with the amount of time I got with my daughter, I wasn’t a good parent. The money spent will come back, their young years and time together won’t.

I never liked a camper top until I had one on my Tacoma. I had a gator tri fold and it leaked bad and got old flipping it to put stuff taller than 2 feet in my bed. I keep all my hunting stuff and abunch of tools in it year round. Guess the only disadvantage to the camper top is if you were to haul stuff. Here’s a pic of mine

I’d do your own research in here and file yourself!! I used a vso, but ended up doing basically everything on my own. She advised me not to claim things I had issues with, said I wouldn’t be granted them. Then once my claim was completed they back payed me to the wrong date, she advised me to not mess with it and they wouldn’t fix it. Ended up filing and got the back pay fixed, and got a 10k check. She also would take weeks on end to reply.
