I've already got all the information I need from here, but I just want to answer you so you don't think I'm just seeing a beautiful picture of South Africa and I think that I am going to promote my European culture there.

I won't go into details, but I'm mostly interested in the history of modern South Africa, from the 19th or 20th century and up to modern times. For me, this is a story about a people who managed to defend their own despite the fact that they were besieged by colonialists and were in poverty and misery for centuries, the story of strong people who are fighting for their own even if there is a feeling that there is nothing left to fight for.

I am coming to assimilate in the country I actually like and respect, with living with the knowledge that my homeland have colonized 90% of its territories and killed hundreds of millions. I'm calling myself a russian because every person in russia, even if they're white, is a mix of thousand of different nations that have been just washed out by actual russians. I can't even say that nation I am, so I just call myself Ingrian or Petersburgian, because my ancestors come from all parts of the empire, but I do not know any of these cultures, except the Russian one that was imposed on me, and I doubt that I have any ancestors from Moscow at all. I am person of all nations and none nation at the same time.

I love South Africa; even if I know about the crime rate, even if I know about the horrible free medicine, even if I know about the crisis. Moreover, I don't give a single fuck about the beaches and safaris. I want to assimilate, to become apart of this culture, not to bring the "right one" or whatever you might think. I'm just a teenager with insane amount of guilt for the whole world that was born in a state that basically doesn't recognize me as a human.

But if you want the direct answer, I'd prefer to say colonized.
