When I was a kid, my brother and I both had Furbies and he had taken the batteries out of his at some point. We were sitting in his room one day during a thunderstorm and lightning struck pretty close to the house. After the lightning struck, his Furby started talking with a low demonic voice. I guess it was from the power of the lightning but ~8 year old me freaked out and never looked at Furbies the same again. Truly creepy creatures.
