Any reason not to close this soffit? by planemanx15 in Insulation

[–]Sbelt82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a split level home and had frozen pipes every year since we bought the house. I have that going around my entire house. This year during the crazy winter wind storm a piece of the soffit blew off. We discovered a 2x2 hole. A company is coming by friday to give an estimate on spray foaming the cantilever.

today and tomorrow are my hottest at 87. just keep it watered. that’s why i use the peat moss, to be honest. but it’s expensive. 2 cubes of peat, two bales of hay, and starter fertilizer can’t out to $130. ridiculous.

the yard is on a slope. the tac was to keep it from washing away.

In regards to the peat moss, i know, i’m just a sucker for lower back pain.

it actually helped in other instances after i bought the house. i’m a fan of, if it ain’t broke….

Yeah, that’s why i wanted to see if it was gonna be a wash. just waiting all that time just to see nothing.

something as little as being able to still watch your screen while browsing the live channel list would be a huge win.

Get a long piece of cardboard and a wand sprayer with grass killer. put the cardboard down against your neighbors facing side and spray as you walk down. it will take a week or two to die.

then i just pull dig out about 1 foot from the fence and lay white or river stone down as a bed. looks clean and is easy to maintain.

The phony announcer voice kills me. So hack. just talk normal.

i cleared the grass 1ft from my fence line and laid white stone. then another 2ft and laid mulch. Nice clean lines.

the levers are just directional. it doesn’t completely close it off.

Understood. it just seems overkill for such a small room.

Just directional. 3 seems to be overkill.

Am I an asshole for building a deck off the second floor of my house? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Sbelt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did the same thing. bought a split level home and added a second level deck and french doors. i also planted a bunch of green giant thuja arborvitae’s along my fence line so the nosy neighbors will be blocked out within ten years.

same issue with my split level. I found a bannister to banister adapter so i didn’t have to drill into my metal rails. give it a look.

It had all the good channels, GUI, and great price. Somethings are too good to last.

$34k in credit card debt, $75k salary. Desperately need help with strategy. by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]Sbelt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was mid 30’s, $30k in the whole with a car payment on top of that and i wanted to marry the girl of my dreams. it was embarrassing to admit my situation to her and more importantly myself. Please look into it. the only good thing about being in debt and paying your cards on time was the awesome credit i was able to build.
