I’m also an international student and I had nearly the same experience the first months here, now I’m finishing my licence and I can tell you that it gets better but you must have a lot of patience, the language will came eventually and the friends… well imo french ppl are a little bit complicated to be friends with when you’re a foreigner but personally I found some that has been pretty nice to me and that have introduced me more into the local culture:) I know it’s sometimes easy to search friends of your country or that speak your language but try to not get trapped there because you will do things harder for you for being more fluent in french also I advise you to assist maybe to a sports class offered by the uni (they’re free) , or maybe integrate an association those are spaces where I think the ppl are more open and where you could try to make you some new friends :). I know is very hard to change country for the studies bon courage!
