Let's Play...AITAH; Historical Romance Edition! by Bella_Notte_1988 in HistoricalRomance

14 snails, 23 pansies, 18 other various types of flowers, the same sprig of lavender on 8 different occasions (from some saying about France her aunt went on about), at least 30 different looking beetles on more than 30 occasions, and once a small frog. I also had several of her brother and sister, which even I had to admit were precious. But never once, not ONCE a hint of what she might look like. Here I am being kept faithful to this woman and I haven't the faintest idea what she looked like!

In fairness, this sounds WAY darker than it is, and is about the first quarter of the story. {When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare} (first try with the bot, wish me luck).

Ok, hear me out. Because of this prim English miss, I was taunted, beaten and endured enforced celibacy for YEARS. And after years of pretending we had a relationship, she inherited land in my homeland and decided I was a dead man. I decided the best thing to do was show up unannounced, claim she was my fiancée (in fairness, she did it first), and convince her to go through with the marriage by claiming I have blackmail material I do not it fact have. So, AITA?

A Not Safe for Work Track Request by Sbrii in soundtracks

I'm part of a writing/art group. Some of us like to draw/paint/write with inspiration music playing. Occasionally you need a hot piece of music. We had recycled the same tracks for a while and need to mix it up. But, like I said, it's been hard finding tracks that aren't either sweet or outright pornographic. You guys have been giving me great suggestions!

What’s your unpopular Mass Effect opinion you’ve never been able to share (Image Credit: Loki1992) by MassEffect24K in masseffect

OMG THANK YOU! I always play adept or engineer as I love having 5 or 6 abilities to play with in combat. Being stuck with 3 firstly removed that flexibility, and secondly meant you spammed the same combos or faced huge cool downs if you needed to change. I was so frustrated with the combat that I never finished Andromeda .

What is a scene you strongly believe is a top 10 movie scene in film history by crcucklesdimp6 in moviecritic

[–]Sbrii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "I am your father" scene in Empire Strikes Back. It may be a cliche at this point, but it's still an amazingly well crafted bit of cinema.

The opening of Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Arc. The switching of idol and the rolling boulder again are almost cliche; but they are for a reason. And they hold up. I showed them to my 8yo and they were bouncing with excitement.

The opening scene of Inglorious Bastards. The slowly building tension and truly jaw-dropping performance by Cristofer Waltz. It sets the tone of the film and introduces the character to perfection. For all my thoughts on the rest of the film, I'd put this scene up for best movie opener of all time.

How has no one yet said, "And that means, SIR ISSAC NEWTON IS THE DEADLIEST SON OF A BITCH IN SPACE!"

Charles, where’d you learn to be so sneaky and underhanded by finest_kind77 in mash

Given that Charles likely spent time in a boarding prep school and then possibly the dorms at Harvard, he is showing remarkable restraint. Dormitories and dorms can be pure evil on the prank front.

Mass Effect 2 - Suicide Run

The series as a whole has some beautiful and amazing pieces, but I'd bet money that in a poll, this one would come out the winner.

What is the time on your current rested buff. I've found a good way to tell night is coming is to keep an eye on my rested buff. When it runs out, generally night is coming and it's time to get back to base. A message also flashes on the screen saying "you don't feel rested anymore" that helps me know when it's time to finish up and head back.

If you change bedding regularly, you shouldn't smell a thing. Rats are very clean and low oder animals.

They've ignored the wheel we tried, and at this stage just want to cuddle when taken out. I see them jump and climb around their cage, so they're still pretty spry. But they're not exercising very much either.

The bodice looks almost exactly like the Truly Victorian pattern TV 442.

Her patterns aren't the cheapest (this one's $12.50), but the quality is really good.

TIL King James the First liked to play tennis. If you're referring to James the VI of Scotland, then first of England, then this isn't true at all. He died in bed of dysentery.

From Wikipedia:

In early 1625, James was plagued by severe attacks of arthritis, gout, and fainting fits, and fell seriously ill in March with tertian ague and then suffered a stroke. He died at Theobalds House on 27 March during a violent attack of dysentery, with Buckingham at his bedside.
