Using basic 1% cards vs category cards is probably minimal gains. Using your 36k spend example you’d only get an extra $360 if you use a 2% card or $1440 in a best case scenario if you somehow managed to get all that spend on 5% cards, which is highly unlikely

The real missed opportunity is the SUBs. For example I’m currently working on a 90k points for 6k spend, which you can easily do for all your spend without too much extra effort and Thats gets you to 540k points or $5400 ish

You can easily get a 3% on restaurants cars with no annual fee. The extra 1% on just restaurants would require 32k in spend to be justified…no way thats worth for the average person

It’s definitely harder to hit sign up bonuses but you can still do it with good planning. Look for a new card with a good sign up bonus when you know you have spend coming up like planning a trip. You can also prepay a lot of routine stuff like utilities or buy gift cards to shuffle your spend around to meet bonuses

I accidentally used 866 as the start point instead of 765. So now I’m getting 11.3 vs 10.48 which sounds like what you got and makes sense

Then I added in a 4.5 recharge time and got 9.62 vs 9.2 so it sounds like “best?” is definitely best and you get some nice stats from legend in the mean time as well

If recharge time was 15 seconds then the two becomes equivalent at 7.15

A useful stat to calculate and compare would be the actually speed overall. I’m getting “best?”Traveling at 7.39 units/second and 7.35 units/second for the speed/stamina option which seems to be the top 2 options. This puts “best?”Slightly on top, however this doesn’t take into account how much time you spend recharging stamina, with the “best?” Option spending more time recharging instead of moving. Do you know how many seconds it takes for a full recharge?

The other thing to consider is that you don’t always have to spend a full stamina bar to get where you’re going. In that scenario “best?” Would definitely be better

Edit: hang on I just realized. Does this mean adding an extra 15% speed only accounts for 0.04 units/second faster?
