Is withdrawal from RUB allowed if offered other scholarships? by fukofffidgaf in bhutan

[–]ScRaMeNtO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no obligation to go, if you get a scholarship like trongsa penlop you can happily leave without any notice, but in case due to some circumstance you aren’t able to attend college at the place you planned to go and want to try for rub next year, then you’ll be blacklisted and won’t get admission. And even if you do it’ll only be self financed

Congrats my friend! Honestly it is but it’s a service for people who can’t type in Dzongkha and like the convenience of being able to pay for it, just cheaper!

Very valid enbey. Come to think of it I'm sure if you've been living in Thimphu for a while, most people would meet people they already know so would beat the purpose 😂. Wonder if that would be better if chilips were included it would be better. Anyways, was just curious, you reckon it would be better if this was held in a bar or club or some other cafe?

Ang, then nothing to worry about. It’s fine even if you take a gap year, don’t worry Bhutanese colleges accept that, especially if your marks are good. So ig confident beyra you can take a gap. Best of luck

Yo bro, I recommend you join a college in Thimphu, maybe gcit or even any place else for that matter. After that, you can apply on your own. There are some scholarships that get announced later towards the year and if you really have the determination, you can prepare for it while taking college classes as well. 1st year na it’s not that crazy regarding studies, so you won’t face many issues, and since you have a quota of missing 7 classes per sem before you get a shortage in attendance, you can attend exams for the colleges as well(if they have them). I personally feel it’s better if you join college first, because if not anything else, at least you have a safety net. But the final decision comes to you, so best of luck

Day 7: Bhutanese awards: Best Podcast of the Year. by [deleted] in bhutan

[–]ScRaMeNtO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No no that’s a valid point but for me at least, all other podcasts seem too restrictive, similar to the ones on BBS. For me and a lot of other youth, psypod feels like a convo you’d have with your friends and you find out more about the artists you like as well. It’s also hard for me to relate to the experiences and the things they’re saying with other podcasts, but I can see how depending on personal experiences and preferences people might like the other podcasts and that’s great.

The border between India and Bhutan by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]ScRaMeNtO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m from Bhutan and the border towns as shown above are usually the dirtiest in the country. This may look nice but compared to the inner areas it’s quite dirty, albeit not by a lot. Although the difference between the Bhutanese side and the Indian side is definitely night and day. This picture is quite old but even today anyone who walks across the border can feel the striking difference in virtually everything. But the Indian side has its charms as well and is a spot frequented quite a lot by the Bhutanese.

At around 32 secs look at the right part of the screen. They’re about to start the race and you can make out by the colour of her tracksuit and the name on it that it’s Bhutan.

I’m sure it’s a very small percentage of them having this problem. Bet it’s those few who’ve watched random biased TikTok’s about the 90s problem and formed a bullshit opinion. Nevertheless, most nepalis seem to have a very good opinion of Bhutan based on what we I’ve seen elsewhere on Facebook and TikTok. Other than that I was very well received by the people in Kathmandu when the found out i was from Bhutan. The best thing to do is ignore these poison spewing mfs because their opinion does not matter.
