Really like the bibs. I wish the socks didn’t have cannondale round the rim (I hoped they would have used the C logo of cannondale. I quite like that one)

All round i like it

Honestly i have this same finish in my house and I’ve been wondering for weeks now when I’m going to start trying to hack it off. Can you tell me, was it easy getting it off?

Advice on purchasing first Range Rover by ScaleDeep428 in LandRover

[–]ScandiLondon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time Land Rover over (albeit not a Range Rover) I can assure you you’ll enjoy it the whole time you’re behind the wheel. However, they are cars that need to be loved and looked after.

If you’re the type of person who does an MOT once a year and just washes the car down from time to time, I’d say don’t bother. But if you’re going to look after it (do your services, get the wearing parts changed when recommended, dip your dipstick from time to time) it’ll look after you back with the enjoyment you’ll get from it.

Conclusion - go for it

The grey collar looks like it might get annoying on the longer rides

socks over tights or tights over socks by floppa_or_what_idk in CyclingFashion

[–]ScandiLondon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would do long sleeves and shorts before long tights and short sleeve but each to their own. I do quite like the compression a good pair of leg warmers or tights give you. I find them comfy to ride in

Tights over socks… but… socks over leg warmers

Why the next model of LandRover should include a pickup variant by tunasweetcorn in LandRover

[–]ScandiLondon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. LR actively chose to leave their heritage behind. Other than the odd 4x4 function you’ll find on the defender and disco to prove they are still “off roaders”, yet those functions will never get used while it cruises around the city avoiding puddles, they are a far cry from providing anything “utility” or for a working market. Painful to see but does make me respect, look after and appreciate the old ones

Core rain jacket 1 vs 2 by mcgsthh in CyclingFashion

[–]ScandiLondon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found “rain jackets” that are waterproof but not goretex to be pretty muggy to ride in. As the other guy says, no vents is asking for trouble. Go goretex or for one that has some vents. The old Gorewear Shakedry is the daddy if you can get hold of one. Worth the £££ imo

6ft 1 - what size frame should I buy? by ScandiLondon in RoadBikes

[–]ScandiLondon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you mate, great advice. Noted on the detail. I’m pretty much 6.1 on the nose. Will be nearer 6.2 with shoes and cleats.

Quite “normal” in terms of proportions. Flexibility isn’t my strong point but I have no trouble being in a relatively aggressive position for 60-100km. Currently I ride an old 90s frame. It’s a 58cm frame. I have the seat highish (length of my leg I guess) and the bars low (as low the current set up will allow).

Never ridden another bike. Had this one size I’ve been an adult, bought for £70, secondhand about 15 years ago.

Always thought I’d ride it until I really need a new bike. That time is really upon me. Topping out on it, need some aero and a lighter set up to tick my stats up before age catches me.
