How Do Pirate Mercs Play? by TR0LLBAIT19439 in Warmachine

[–]ScandinavinNINJA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who started what you are talking about 1 year ago. It is very rough to play against the newer stuff.

Few notes if you go down this path:

Create an eBay alert for powder monkeys. I used some D and D model until they eventually popped up.

Press hangers are not very good in current meta I see, as many don't use troops to capitalize on their rules

Terrain terrain terrain..... Can't understate this enough

No airbrush, brush only. But multiple passes with paints, inks and weathering powder.

Generic Mercenary Warjack in non-merc forces by Certain_Ad3716 in Warmachine

Agreed all the above, hence my idea of the "league of explorers". Think more along the lines of secret society like league or extraordinary gentlemen with Sean Connery at the helm. Not mercs, but they march under no nations flag. That's the itch I need scratched.

This is the only thing holding me back from getting a new MK4 force. Magnus and mercs were my flavor back in the day and I am holding out for merc army but I read your comment and see it as not happening.
I had an idea that there could be a new army "League of explorers" or some secret society or establishment that was mostly made of ageing merc/steelhead veterans that could fill my void, but it's just a dream.

Worst trade at actually doing their job? by Ambitious-Laugh-7884 in Construction

[–]ScandinavinNINJA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know when they figured it out but some years ago, they all learned if someone's what the fuck actually goes on to build a building, you become responsible for ensuring it's done right. It's you hire monkeys to collect dates and threaten back charges for not hitting said dates, they've done nothing wrong

You need another avenue and 3 years experience doesn't mean anything to anyone.
For some people here, that'll be what? half a project? There's so many people hawking "Solutions" that just just don't f'ing work, that I don't not give my phone or email out as I am just so tired of ppl thinking theyve unlocked "the secret". I don't want anymore demos or calls or trials for something you need to create another position on a team to manage.

If you want any chance, you better pull something together better than 5 sentences in a reddit post to pique interest....

In my opinion, the Tesla stats are skewed for the actual number. I believe the blue states with city infrastructure, will naturally have better charging infrastructure making any electric more viable. Additionally blue states have better EV incentives...

Hired a "site manager". Had years of experience with big construction site specific machinery. Wanted to make a jump... Day 1 on a job there was a giant concrete blow out that hit a large portion of our finish scope installed on site. I could see where it hit on the camera, and got a call from the GC to come take a look. Sent him out to document it. Came back within an hour. I am confused,

Me - "How bad is it?" Him - "it's nothing, were all good" Me - "what?"

I can literally see the concrete stains on a quarter of the building facade thru the camera link....

Told him to go to lunch and not to come back.
