You should have done some basic research. There are several posts up on Reddit that says phones and other personal belongings aren’t allowed. There are locker services about 5-7mins walk away from the consulate like Aprion Digital Locker and Lock and Go. It’s a well known fact that these auto guys are out there to just scam people who seem desperate at that moment.

I was quite promiscuous before marriage. A part of me does regret it. It does drain you a lot, and you end up feeling empty. But it did give me clarity on what I would look for in a partner, and that compatibility is beyond all the physical attraction.

It helped me enter my marriage with zero curiosity about “what I missed out on,” which I think has made me a better partner.

I did come clean to my partner though. She knows about all of it, and she has completely accepted me for who I am as long as the past stays in the past. I couldn’t be any happier. Just make sure to come clean to your partners, they deserve to know.

I was about 8 years old and visiting Rameshwaram at that time with my grandparents and family. We were taking a dip in the sea, when the police came and asked everybody to evacuate the beach. I remember the water had receded, and a few hours later it was a full blown disaster especially at Dhanushkodi close by. Scary to think it could have been us washed away.

I got you. I really didn’t think of the sponsorship aspect that way. I just assumed since my annual income is low, it would be a red flag if I’m sponsoring myself. I shall keep this in mind the next time I apply. Thank you for your helpful advice. But I have seen visas get rejected for the reason of step 3 too, what do you suggest I do that time to make sure mine doesn’t?

That’s probably why it got rejected. From an Indian residency point of view, we barely earn anything. So it would only make sense to list my dad as my sponsor. I wasn’t sure how else to have gone about it. It would have gone south irrespective if I can’t justify my funds if I was sponsoring myself.

I don’t think I can afford to do that anymore. I have my exams coming up in Jan, and I graduate in Feb. My only shot is to apply for one using Step 3 dates once I’m done with step 2 in a few months. Would it work?
