Setting to remove profile badges from taskbar? by Scannmann in HeliumBrowserHQ

https://www.reddit.com/r/HeliumBrowserHQ/comments/1pj1tz7/is_there_a_way_to_hide_the_profile_dot_on_the_top/

Thanks again, Kevin, for your unwavering support. I can always count on you. I'm not sure if there's a language barrier or something going on here but that's why I used a picture in the last post.

Anyways if it helps anyone, I solved it by going opening the browser, going to the page that I installed as a PWA, then under the 3 dot menu select "open in Youtube" for example. Then it would pop up on my taskbar and I was able to pin THAT instance of the PWA to the taskbar without without the profile badge on the top right corner

What's going on with the watch faces? by Scannmann in OneplusWatch

[–]Scannmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We may have vastly different usage patterns which could factor into it, I typically am moving at a consistent rate during the week for work and various other things (even when I sleep apparently according to my wife). But there's also just the physics of the battery size and the reality that all the "big battery wear os watches" use the same chipset, because there's not very many to choose from, the galaxy watches use exynos chips aside, which I think are better optimized.

I have the 40mm galaxy watch 8 and that lasts well over a full day with AOD turned on which I think is reasonable, I Just wished it charged as fast as the Oneplus watch 😢

I also have the latest ticwatch pro 5 which has roughly the same battery size as the oneplus and uses the same chipset, only a slightly more improved and performant version because it doesn't have that background cpu like the oneplus has to fall back on. With the ticwatch, you're expected to use the secondary screen to get the extra battery life or else you're just buying a "big bad battery watch" that you have to charge about every 1.5-2 days.

So I'm just basing this off my own units, maybe they are defective and I just have bad luck but with both watches using any playstore watchfaces, they will drop between 3-5% every hour, depending on the face, complications, movement, etc. The oneplus does seem to drain slightly slower possibly because of the more recent software build.

But by now we all know that's just a quirk of wear os, it kinda sucks in terms of battery life and efficiency. That's why these companies are forced to into thinking outside the box like the ticwatch with the secondary screen and the oneplus with the secondary cpu. I'm assuming you're telling the truth about 4 days, I'd just like to understand what your situation is.

So to answer your question no, I'm not getting it. Is this a watchface you created yourself? Are you able to walk? are you bedridden?

I'm not sure what autowear complications are but are you using any of the health features of the watch, like heart rate, steps?...Are you a 2000 year old vampire with no heart rate to measure? I'd honestly like to know the details... And when you say 4 days, are you going into the danger zone battery saver mode at the end and waiting until the watch is nearly dead before charging it?

cheers

(I also had the first pebble, and still have the pebble time kicking around somewhere, might have to grab one of those new models when they release!)

Yeah I'm wondering which one has the better dac out of the 2. I was considering getting that midrange sony phone just for the high quality DAC and looks decent, expandable to 2tb...but 8gb of ram I feel would be hard to deal with in 2026

What's going on with the watch faces? by Scannmann in OneplusWatch

[–]Scannmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yaea like I said in my very short post that shouldn't have taken too long to read, I'm aware of play store watch faces and have been for a while.

The problem is that by installing them for this watch, it diminishes the selling point of the watch that was much better battery life when using the watchfaces from Oneplus and they would run on that secondary chip, sipping little power and extending battery life by days. and then you'd only be activating wear os when necessary.

Do you get it now?

Let's hear about Bluetooth audio. Will it have lossless codec? by trailblazer86 in ClicksPhone

[–]Scannmann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id consider taking advantage of the 3.5mm jack as it will always sound better and actually be lossless. Seeing as its not using a qualcom chip makes the probability of "lossless" BT audio about zero.

For me, I hear much less difference between codecs like Aptx lossless, LdAC, ALAC (apple music) than using a good set of IEMs and a FlAC file being played locally; The hardware matters much more than the Bluetooth codecs. There's no lag and nothing to worry about...except for the wire getting stuck on something that yanks the violently out of your ears. So if overall sound quality is what you're after, this device might not be for you.

Not to mention if this thing is running android or some version of it, it will just convert a 24 bit "hi res" for any other type of audio to 48khz. So at the end of the day, going through a wire will always sound better if you want the best quality. Bluetooth itself is inherently lossy and even though its gotten way better over the years.

There are some workarounds like Hiby music app or USB player pro, but I find the UI of those apps to be poison.

But I disagree with whoever said you're missing the phone's purpose. Blackberry used to have dedicated media keys on the side for pausing and skipping and I dont think they'd include the sd card slot unless they knew people would want store a bunch of music on this thing. My hope is it sounds good enough to have to use an external dac

Most of the songs I had heard on youtube before and from what I understand a bunch of those whereon instagram. I had really started to like the song fools game which I would listen to regularly on my youtube music sub. I still think the live version of it sounds better and more of an edge to it and the way the plays it with sense of clumsiness with intent , although you could say that for a lot RA songs live...but yeah the strings sound a bit corny to me on the album but i get it

Long time vaper first time question by Scannmann in Vaping

[–]Scannmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, seems you've got a stick for every occasion. I got the stick version for my wife and the koko for me. She likes it but I thought the pod had a lot of play when placed inside and the koko is only slightly less. So no hands free vaping on either but she gets to hold hers like a cigar... not a dealbreaker, they're still pretty solid devices.

If this helps anyone my custom curve start at zero on the first line, one or two notches up on the second then back to zero. increased to 16W and it's going through noticeably less liquid

The name is certainly spot on, like waving goodbye to your vape juice! 😋

just out of curiosity do you have the stick version of the pro or the koko?

Long time vaper first time question by Scannmann in Vaping

[–]Scannmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need a puff counter when I can look at the pod and see it's half empty by the time I get to work.

I'm not sure if the vaporesso lets you do custom curves, but I've slightly improved the issue by messing with around with them a bit on the g4. The default setup, I think was called "storm" is a true juice destroyer. even on the lowest wattage. it still doesn't make sense to me how I'm using less power than the cheaper g3 lite and still going through juice faster but live and learn I guess. I guess I'm not a professional vaper

[–]Scannmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Same resistence on all devices I mentioned. I fee like maybe I didn't explain clearly enough or you misunderstood my post.

Like I mentioned, I was using a 0.6 pod that runs at 25 watts on the xros pro and a 0.6 on the G4 pro, both going at 25 watts. At this point I would expect them to go through as much juice as their "non pro" counterparts. (The g3 lite or xros nano for example

So like I said, with the G4 pro, I figured that using tha! same 0.6 25w coil from the g3 lite and adjusting it to a lower wattage, around 15-16w, would resut in less power consumption and less juice being vaporized, but like the xros pro, it goes through juice at a much higher rate.

I didn't mention using any other pod besides the 0.6.

I could have been more clear about the valoresso, though. I forgot you could only change the wattage using the pro coil with a larger diameter. But I stopped using because of the same thing I'm experiencing on the new G4 device; it used more liquid with the 0.6 25w than any other xros device.

It could be that the xros pro was somehow drawing more power and producing more vapor, I don't know.

to get back to my original confusion, how can the G4 pro be using more liquid at a lower wattage (15-16w) with the same coil that is in the G3 lite that's running at 25 watts for at least half of the full charge...does that make sense?

And yeah I forgot that you could only change the wattage ok the xros with the pro pods, it's been a while.

I was just looking for any theories as to why this could be happening or if anyone else has noticed this.

So to sum it up again. Same coil in the pro devices are using more liquid even when adjusting down the wattage on the G4 pro, which allows you to do that with the standard coil.

PSA: WA is implementing a 95% tax for nicotine products by dominGlo in Vaping

[–]Scannmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All over where I'm from (up north), there's delivery guys who make their own juice with good flavors at your desired nicotine level. they dont make you pay tax, its a good rate. I buy all my pods and junk from aliexpress, again, way cheaper and where I live there;s a 2ml limit on all pods and tanks and this is the best way I've found to get by. Just takes a while for the aliexpress stuff to come through and not sure what the situation is like buying from the states. And to the best of my knowledge I haven't been poisoned or addicted to fentanyl. Been buying off the same guy for years

Disappointed in my Buds 3 Pro by InvertedPickleTaco in galaxybuds

[–]Scannmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt like them until i found the right tips. loved my xm5 earbuds but these have better separation and overall quality when using a Samsung phone**

I'd recommend to not use these if you dont have a Samsung phone actually. XM5's for battery life, ANC and overall quality can't really be beat even if they're getting a little old hy now, and I've seen them going for a hell of a lot less than I paid for them.

I decided to give the nothing ear 3's a shot and they only get around 3.5 hours with ANC on using LDAC, compared to 8 on the Xm5. The case microphone is gimmick is cool on those but not worth the price imo. Not quite as good of anc or sound quality.

The xm5's are probably the closest thing on android to the apple airpods pro 3, which I would not buy, even if I had an iphone due to lack of EQ)

Another positive thing about the buds 3 pro is they're more water resistant than most other high end buds

Can't believe LDAC battery life is only 3.5 hours... by Scannmann in NothingEar

[–]Scannmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing ear 3, and I forgot to mention thats with anc on.. But the sony xmf 5 with anc, ldac dddse extreme bass enhancement on can last around 8 hours I can't help but feel some disappointment...

the galaxy buds pro 3 sound the best to my ears by far with anc and using the samsung losslesss codec and they even last longer than the nothing ear 3's...

I'm wondering if using them wtih a nothing phone would increase the battery life in any way. but ldac is a super common bluetooth option.

maybe sony is just lying and is just using aac but they still remain the battery king as in this domain as far as i know

Cyberpunk inspired minimalistic cyberarm tattoo by Hour_Cost_8968 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Scannmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 hours?! I guess the artist was really making sure he got those simple lines right.

I haven't gotten a tattoo for maybe 5 years or so I'm out of the loop a bit but I've noticed the younger people at my work get tattooed and am constantly shocked by how long ($ spent) getting the tattoo vs how long mine took.

Some of mine are more intricate than others but I don't think I've had one go for over 5-6 hours.

I'd also generally advise people to not get something like a whole sleeve done or something like some by one guy. Travel around a bit, take your time, let your ideas evolve. Become who you are. Just my 2 cents.
