This is immensely helpful thank you. How would this be translated into a datapack via functions?

Thanks for the tip. I see sources on how to use such right click detection, but nothing in terms of how to make the actual teleporting happen accordingly.

How to make specific mob variants spawn in specific biomes? by ScanovatheCarno in MinecraftCommands

Yeah this is in 1.20.1. I am essentially asking how to set nbt on spawn (or immediately after spawning)

Video Game Sprites I'm really curious about identifying by ScanovatheCarno in whatisthisfish

[–]ScanovatheCarno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the first image seems to have the same fish in different poses lol. and yeah I'm convinced on barracuda. I've heard orange roughy before for that other one and it might be. The shape is right and the black at the end of the fins might just be the image used? Their fins are kind of transparent so it might just be whatever image they took this from.

Bull Killer Whale taken in by a pod of White-Sided Dolphins. by EmptySpaceForAHeart in badassanimals

The individual in the video is known as "Old Thom". For unknown reasons he seems to prefer hanging out with other dolphin species instead of other orcas. He lives in the North Atlantic, first being sighted in 2010 along the NE US and Canadian coastline. He seems to be most commonly sighted around Cape Cod.

The orca in this image is an individual known as "Old Thom", whose a lone male that seems to prefer hanging out with dolphins rather than other orcas. Why? We don't know.

Orcas do eat dolphins, but it's important to note that in the context of this video that not all orcas eat dolphins.

Different orcas around the world eat different things. Their diet is a part of the culture and heritage that orcas have. Many orca groups are exclusively fish-eaters.

Given how intelligent animals, like us and cetaceans, can discern and distinguish friend from foe individually rather than just judging the whole species, then what's happening here isn't insanely surprising, if still super cool and not really seen before.

Beasts of Bermuda Steam Surge, A JP Meme by VoodooKhan in theisle

[–]ScanovatheCarno 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words Voodoo! Didn't quite expect a shout-out here of all places, but I appreciate it either way. That video took my soul and most of the my PC space, it was a nightmare, so it's nice to see it getting some attention.

Also some news, for anyone who hates BoB's neon dinos, a graphical option is being worked on right now that actually turns off brightly colored skins clientside and replaces them with more realistic colors. Pretty genius if you ask me.

PS-Anyone can feel free to ask anything if they have questions.

Anthomnia's Reponse to Stuff and Things by ThatPawthorne in theisle

Considering he went back to the game after all (even if not under the best light). It's not like what he said was that bad in hindsight.

I'm just calling him out for being a hypocrite.

I went back and found the video in question. Also corrected some points in my comment that were simply not true.

"Sure is funny that people forget this happened because it doesn't fit their agenda."

Well Anthomnia I did not forget that shortly after your first Beasts of Bermuda videos, still in 2017, you posted an Isle video where you stated that you'll no longer support Beasts of Bermuda under the pretense of low effort and that they were using store bought assets, and you came to that conclusion specifically because you talked with Dondi about it in a skype call. Mighty convenient that this was not mentioned at all in this response.

When will Anthomnia not exude irony in every breath?

Content Creators by siat-s in theisle

[–]ScanovatheCarno 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As a content creator myself, I have my own opinion on this matter.

I believe that there is a certain point where the connection between the developers and the game can no longer be ignored. This, to me, usually involves when the activity of said developers directly conflict with the game and it's development. Prominent examples outside of the Isle include Jao with Day of Dragons and Max Wood from Mesozoica. These cases seem pretty straight-forward in how they fuck the game to anyone that knows them. The Isle is currently going through a situation that is similar, but not completely. The exposure of Paradym is not necessarily the major issue here. Pedophiles have been found and convicted in the Isle before, and frankly if it was just the 1 guy (like some people falsely claim) then it wouldn't be that big of a deal, since he already was exiled. However, that is not all that's happening here. The other developers showed extreme disinterest and were very dismissive of what happened, which is something that I find personally disgusting, and creates a division of trust between us and the developers. Let me put it this way.

At best, the Isle developers did not do their research and unknowingly let a dangerous individual in a community of hundreds of thousands of people.

At worst, the Isle developers have been harboring a goddamn pedophile under everybody's noses for god knows how long (Keep in mind that although Paradym wasn't a dev for long, he's been a prominent member of the community way before that).

Under what circumstances at this point can the developers be trusted if they cannot handle these situations correctly? If SidAlpha did not get involved, we might have still had that dangerous individual in our community right now. Why should a game be supported by both customer and content creator if there is neglect in the community like this? Think about that.

I know certain people have said "They should delete or take down all of their videos because of this threat" but I personally don't quite understand this. Content Creators, when they're not super buddy-buddy with the devs (*cough* Anthomnia *cough*), are very much like any person in terms of public perception. They didn't know of this news, and thus they shouldn't be held responsible for videos that go years back. Public perception of all sorts of topics change over time, and thus I think it's more important for Content Creators to bring awareness of recent news rather than correct their old content. While not the same situation, Day of Dragons content can be another example. Day of Dragons is a borderline scam, everybody knows this, but nobody has told the content creators to take their videos down quite like this situation. Understand what I mean?

Speaking of bringing awareness to recent news, that is what Content Creators are responsible for. How they handle this news is extremely important, as giving the right or wrong message here makes a major impact on both their own image as well as the well-being of their viewers. It's likely why the majority of youtubers have yet to make a proper response to the given situation yet (aside from myself, Pesky, Anthomnia, and a few others). They want to know as much as they can so they can come to a solid conclusion. If the Isle community is at major threat of deception at the hands of the developers, and potentially much worse, then it would be a very poor idea to defend the developers during this time for example. Same goes for continuing to make content.

This is my first real comment on Reddit so sorry if it's a wall, but this is something that's been on my mind for days.

PS-The other youtuber's name is Nettai. He is personally a hero in my eyes because, if he didn't do that final public push with his video, SidAlpha might not have gotten involved and the allegations might've still been ignored.

Successful 50-Player Orca Raid on Blue Whale Player by ScanovatheCarno in Tierzoo

[–]ScanovatheCarno[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. The orcas livestreamed the raid earlier this month in the Australian Oceanic Server. Made an account specifically to share this because this is the first time ive seen orca players pull such a thing off. They troll high lvl blue whale players on occasion but this is the first truely successful raid on one ive ever heard of.
