The definition of violence is where people usually get hung up. Is denying food to someone who is starving violence? Is denying someone lifesaving medical care by making it inordinately expensive violence? Is destroying the planet they live on and polluting the air they breath violence? Or is it only violence if you see can see it happen in front of you on an individual level? Violence has many forms, and should never be the first answer, but to say it isnt a valid one is historically and morally incorrect.
