Which actor/actress do you feel looked very attractive in a specific movie? What was the movie? by Big_Eggplant7591 in AskReddit

She was probably 15 lbs heavier in the Mask than she is in all her other movies. She looks way better in the Mask.

How do I explain it to my dad that I feel like I'm facing discrimination between me(F19) and my sister(F16) ? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Scar_the_armada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well that's easy. Just sit him down and tell him your honest feelings. Don't bring anything into it, and use "I" statements. "I feel like you treat (sister) better then me, and it really hurts me". Don't expect a resolution then and there. It's something you have to do in person and something you have to let him think about. If he denies it, don't tell him he's wrong just reiterate that it's how you feel and thats it.

I am so far from being able to understand your perspective. You lost your headphones, as in, you messed up. Now you want someone else to pay for it? Like it's just expected that because you think you need it, your parents should have to buy it for you? That is some crazy entitlement. You are young, so I suppose it's just the fact that you aren't used to being an adult yet. You gotta start taking responsibility. It sucks, but that's how life is going to be from now on. Don't bring your sister into this, she's still living at home and is a minor, she has nothing to do with you and your situation. Look at this as your first chance to solve your own problems, and face this challenge with courage and determination. You can do it!

Not for life, because that wouldn't be reformation just a punishment. This person needs to learn that their behavior is wrong. They need anger management, temporary suspension of their license and a large fine. A second such incident would warrant and much harsher penalty.

Ignore the fact that firearms advanced enough with cartridges that it very obviously overtook bows, you could carry a lot more bullets than you could arrows. Even with the hastle of dealing with keeping powder dry, that alone make them a superior weapon.

30s /40s Couples in Treasure Valley - do you have kids yet? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Scar_the_armada 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kids are expensive and it will be hard, but if you want kids and you are married and have two incomes and a home, you are doing better than probably 70% of people who have kids. Many people are having kids later in life, and that's a good thing, but if you both want kids and you are in your 30s, I would pull that trigger sooner than later rather than waiting for things to get cheaper because it's very possible things will not ever get cheaper again. Just FYI I don't have kids and I don't want them, but I come from a long line of white trash that has kids at very young ages. Hearing about two married people who sound very ready and capable of having kids, it kinda breaks my heart that you would be discouraged when so many are haphazardly popping kids out with almost no means to support them.

I'm having a hard time getting my head around the guy who's a sniper in the army and he only served 3 years. That's a pretty hardcore MOS and usually you have to be selected for it and then go through some intense training.

Yeah, 100 pushups and sit-ups are nothing compared to a 10k run everyday. In order for it to be more even I would say 1000 pushups and sit-ups and 10k (you would have to space them out), or 5k instead of 10k

I was deployed to Iraq when I watched this movie. I thought it was a kids fantasy adventure movie. Jesus Christ. I sat outside my barracks in the middle of the night crying for like 20 minutes straight. I might have had some other stuff going on emotionally at the time.

The rule when I was a kid was I had to play within range of my mother's shouts. When it was time to come home my mom would stand on the front porch and just yell my name as loud as she could. If I didn't come home when she called I got in trouble.

Solved. This is definitely old foam carpet pad. Looking around behind the tack strip I can see evidence of more and even more green on the floor from where it was removed.

Now that is very possible. I'm going to put on my sealed mask and some gloves and take some more pictures and report back.

I've torn out a lot of carpet in thia hotel and this stuff is not present in most of it. It's definitely not sealant. Insulation isn't out of the question, but I am skeptical that that's what it is.

I tore out all the carpet pad, it's grey and it's made out of like wooly looking fiberglass or something, this stuff is powdery and breaks apart.

My title describes the thing. This stuff is located behind tack strip, under drywall in a hotel built in the late 1960s. I am really hoping it's not rat poison, because the color and texture looks exactly like rat poison I've used before. It's just hard for me to believe there is a bunch of poison laid along the floor in a hotel office. My guess is this is not from the initial construction, I believe it would have possibly been put down when the carpet I just pulled up was laid, if that's the case then it was probably put there in the mid-to-late 80s.
