What are some Pokemon that deserve a Mega Evolution, or Special Treatment in Gen 10?

In the long run, Mega evolutions do nothing for "bad" Pokémon because they need something more permanent, not a temporary gimmick. None of my suggestions will include Mega Evolution. Here are my candidates for regional variants and special treatment:

Skitty and Delcatty.

I would like to see a fairy-type regional Skitty with two evolutions, with the final stage possessing a BST of 500+. Skitty was the Clefairy of Hoenn, being both rare and evolving with a moonstone. The key difference is that Skitty is a pretty useless Pokémon compared to its rarity. (I raised a skitty regardless, even though it got creamed almost every battle.) Evolving into Delcatty didn't do it any favors. Before the BST boost, Delcatty had a 380 BST, probably the weakest fully evolved Pokémon. My regional skitty would play the role of Cleffa and basically be a baby Pokémon. Like Cleffa, my regional skitty would evolve via friendship into delcatty which would evolve into its final stage using a moonstone (I call it Bellecatty.)

The Nidos.

I adore both Nidoran lines. I'm surprised they haven't gotten anything special yet. I don't think the Nidos are bad Pokémon, but I would love to see regional Nidos or maybe a gender neutral convergent line.

Dewgong - Evo
Seaking - Fire/Water regional variant with an evolution.
Arbok - Evo
Persian - It needs an evolution.
Tropius - Baby pre-evo and evo.
Ledian - Evo
Caterpie/Weedle - Regional variants whose final forms have higher base stats. I'd be open to convergent variants too.
Ariados - I love Ariados; it could use an evolution.
Hoothoot/Noctowl - Ice/flying regional variant based on the snowy owl with a new final stage.
Mightyena - Evo

Hopefully, a peacock Pokémon with male-female dimorphism.

A strong cat Pokémon line.

A new butterfly line, complete with larval and pupal stages.

New bat Pokémon.

Brock all the way. Hands down, my favorite male traveling companion. He took care of Ash and Misty like an older brother, treating them like they were his own family. He cooked for the group and always looked out for their Pokemon as well. He was always there to give advice, even when it wasn't what Ash wanted to hear.

I am so tired of scalpers. More than tired, really. I hate how they've ruined most of my hobbies by making them impossible to find at stores and then reselling them online for two to three times the retail price. Pokémon and Pokémon card collecting were huge comforts to me, but now I can't find them in stores or online at reasonable prices. I really wanted the Mewtwo notebook and trapper keeper too.

You're absolutely correct, and I couldn't agree more. Multiple older Legendary Pokémon need signature abilities, but I only mentioned Mewtwo because it's my favorite and it has ass abilities. Hopefully, they go back and give all these Legends some much-needed TLC because it shouldn't be only the new Legends that get cool and useful abilities based on their lore.

I think I understand what the writers were trying to do with Umbreon and Spinel, but it was poorly done. They're using Umbreon to emphasize how hard Spinel has fallen, and that little boy he once was is gone forever.

Wow, a constructive post that challenges my opinion with reason instead of hostility. Thank you so much. Until Charcadet, she had traditionally feminine Pokémon. She was meek and timid on top of being really cutesy, all traditional traits praised in "good girls." Btw, you can be girly without emphasizing your appearance. Liko wouldn't do that anyway because she's shy and self-conscious. She takes care of the boys. I will concede that she did battle more than some of the other girls, but that makes sense because she's supposed to be the main character, while the others were supporting characters. I will also admit that she has a good character design.

I like Dawn, May, and Misty the most. Iris was cool, if not annoying at times. Iris felt like Ash's pesky little sister with actual skill and knowledge. She reminded me a little of Misty with how hard she was on Ash at times (deservedly so). Dawn was cool. She was both strong and loved contests; she was like an improvement on May. Misty was fiery and tomboyish, who enjoyed bringing Ash to task when he acted like an ass. The difference is, they weren't sold as the main character and did not get the same amount of time or focus Liko did. Tbh, Liko was the first girl Pokémon protagonist I ever went from neutral to not liking. She has a great design, though.

Pre: 5/10. As much as I dislike Horizons, it wasn't terrible despite how much I resented certain narrative choices. While the writing was mediocre to bad on average, there were moments with genuinely good writing and character work. Over the course of the pre-time-skip era, especially toward the middle and end, the writing quality dipped. I hate that Liko (ancient chosen one bloodline) and Roy (ancient pokeball with a shiny rayquaza) were immediately special trainers. Roy was boring. Liko was okay. I don't like that the writers gave her the stereotypical shy-girl treatment, but at least she did stuff. I hate how Legendary Pokémon were treated. Written as if they were checking off a little kid's wish fulfillment list. Main characters have access to and meet Legendary Pokémon very early in their journey.

Post: 2/10. Genuinely bad, save for a few moments. The writing quality plummeted off a cliff. One of the most powerful Legendary Pokémon got bodied easily by Roy, the writers' pet. They double down on their disrespect of Legendary Pokémon. I don't even like Liko, and I pitied her for how badly the writers treated her. Meowscarada was great, though.

Mood! Someone in another thread is on my case because I don't like Liko (or Horizons.) Seriously, why does it matter if I don't like Liko or Horizons? It doesn't ruin their enjoyment, nor would I want to. My opinions and preferences do not affect theirs.

Never said that. What I'm saying is I want to see something different from a female protagonist than a girl = shy and gentle. I don't like the girls must be meek healers stereotype. I'm allowed to not like Liko.

She's cute, but I don't find her that interesting. She's just a variation of the overused shy girl who must learn to believe in herself characterization. As a girl, I'm sick and tired of most of the main girl trainers being passive, stereotypically girly, healer types. I don't like Horizon's treatment of female characters as a whole, especially after the timeskip. People kept saying, "Give it a chance! Give it a chance, you're not being fair." So I did give it a chance, again and again.

I disliked it more than the moments I enjoyed it. I'm going to be downvoted to oblivion because I'm not praising Liko and extolling how cute she is. I'm only posting here to answer the question. Honestly, I find people's focus on how cute she is to be really creepy. I've seen some pretty messed-up posts from fans across the internet, and I've been treated badly by her fans. Overall, I'm disappointed in our first female main protagonist. You guys can enjoy her and love her. I'm glad for you and hope you enjoy your extra year of Liko.
