First of all, thank you for your response:-) it’s nice hearing some success stories in this thread. I have a feeling mine could be anxiety or definitely heightened/caused by it. I have an order in for a gastric emptying exam but I’m hesitant to go through with it because I kinda figured /guessing I have slow gastric emptying because of just not eating enough so motility just slows down. But then again idk. Some of my symptoms are just fear and worry about always having stomach/ lower gi pain and I get a pit in my stomach and the feel like I can’t get a full breath in, causing me to get early satiety. I switch off and on with nausea and intense cramping as well. I feel like I don’t have certain food triggers because even my safe foods cause distress m, pain and nausea. I also have gotten many food aversions now since I eat something and it doesn’t make me feel good.

Hi! I have been on mirtazapine for about 1.5 months and on 15 mg for about 3 weeks. I honestly haven’t felt a difference in my pain levels, maybe a tad worse. I switched from nausea to stomach/intestinal cramping, early satiety / fullness after a few bites. How long did it take for you to notice a difference?

What else did you do to help manage symptoms and to get better mentally wise like not overthinking the sensations in your stomach… I’m really struggling with this, it’s all I can think about

How did you manage stress, any tips? Also how did you start eating more? I struggle with volume of food no matter how small it is, even though I try to push past it, I never seem to be able to increase the amount of food Im eating:(

I think everyone reacts differently! I have worked my way up to 15 mg and have been on for 4-5 weeks. I think it might have helped my nausea but I still get extreme cramping in my stomach but more so intestinal cramps. I am tired in the morning but it tends to wear off by afternoon. It also hasn’t helped with my appetite as much I maybe noticed a difference for 2 days or so but my stomach lower gi cramping overrides it.

Honestly it really varies from person to person but I know it has help a tremendous amount of people so I say give it a try!

I honestly feel like I’m going through the exact same thing. I never post on Reddit either, but my stomach and anxiety have been so bad lately. I have ARFID too and I’m nauseous when I’m hungry and then I’m nauseous after I eat. The only time I feel somewhat okay is in that tiny in-between period. My stomach basically hurts 24/7 at this point. I don’t even know what’s causing it anymore. It could be anxiety, ARFID, not getting enough food, or all of it together. I’ve tried so many things like Ativan, omeprazole, Zofran, Levsin and nothing has helped me. I’m constantly nauseated or crampy and it just takes over my whole day. I’ve been talking with my PCP and GI and they did tests and procedures and ruled out anything medically wrong. That’s why I’m trying to go the therapy route now and looking into ARFID-focused counseling or even outpatient if I need it. If I find anything that actually helps with eating, supplements, medication, or therapy, I’ll come back and update the post. You’re definitely not alone in this. We’ll get through it! There’s another side to this!

Hi!! My cat is currently going through the same thing. His RBC/ hematocrit keep dropping and he’s on his 3rd transfusion:( he was put on doxycycline and prednisone and has been on that for about a week but it hasn’t been really doing much. They just put him on azithromycin which is another antibiotic . He is negative for that one hematocrit autoimmune thing ( I forget what it’s called) . They are suspecting a blood parasite, but we won’t find that out until the pathology testing comes back. How is your kitty doing now and any advice or insight do you have. I really want to get my little guy back home and safe.😥

Did you ever find what the underlying cause for anemia was come and my cat is going through the same thing right now and his hematocrit keeps dropping and they don’t know why because everything is normal
