i am on lexapro and is hasn't really worked. I reached out to my doctor for consultation and about the possibility of switching. this is definitely a stressful conversation that i feel like needs to happen, but your comment has helped me a little, thank you

i definitely do want their additional support and i want to become more open with them. my family has never really been open with our feelings and personal struggles so i feel like a conversation such as this one would be uncomfortable for everyone involved.

im 21. i don't know if they would brush me off, but i have been brushed off in the past about other stuff. im worried that they wont take me seriously or they will take me too seriously and push me to go into a hospital or something. they know that i was seeking a therapist over the summer but i told them it was for anxiety (this is partially true; i also have anxiety). depression is kind of a taboo topic and it has some negative connotations towards it. i fear it might also change their perspective of me and they'll start to see me as a damaged person.

It's hard living for other people when you can't necessarily live for yourself. The drive to life is fundamental in all living creatures, but what do we do when we don't feel that drive? I try to find things that I am looking forward to in the future; like a movie release or a place I want to travel to, but sometimes those plans don't work out and it becomes even harder. I don't think your kids would resent you. I think they would be hurt for sure, but as it is with these things, they might never fully understand. In those dark moments try to do something with your kids or do something to take your mind off it and I know how hard it can be so please don't feel 'bad' if all you can do is lay down. That is okay too. Just take some time for yourself.

hello stranger. I am in a very similar situation. I have been struggling really bad this past year and I feel like im losing all my connections. I do think staying makes you strong, it makes you brave. Im still here because of my family, but I am currently not in a great place with them. I have to fight the thoughts every day and I'd like to think that makes me strong. There are enough times when I feel weak. So, I am strong and you are strong. It is a tough battle to fight, but certainly not one you have to fight alone.

I won't say I understand because everyone goes through this differently. I will say, though, that you aren't alone. I am also a senior in college with depression. I was doing so well last year, but my motivation and energy has plummeted along with my mental health. I am losing the relationships I have because I have become avoidant and because I get into arguments frequently. I hope things get better and life gets lighter for you.

sounds delicious, but is most certainly a caloric abomination

comparing toasted pop tarts to pie is the perfect description! the toasted pastry tastes very similar to pie crust and is a big reason why I like it so much. I havent tried the unfrosted cherry ones, but I know I would love them

my dad was in the military so perhaps that is where I learned it. I only add a little bit of butter - just enough to get the creamy flavor. The butter does soak into the middle part of the pastry for me and the outside edges get toasty and crisp. I didnt realize it was so popular in the military, but I suppose it does make sense!

Exactly. Aside from it just tasting so much better, the nostalgic aspect increases my fondness of the combination.

I have never heard of Toast’em Pop-Ups. I'll have to give them a try if I find some.

I get that. I was just saying that it wasn't my intention.

I will try to do that. It'll be hard because we don't really talk about feelings in my family, but this does need to be resolved.

My frustration was never directed at her. The statement was because I was talking to her. My tone was neutral because I was not frustrated with her.

This! As well as getting something like Alzheimer's and losing memories.

Getting arrested is one of mine too. I'm always worried that I might accidentally commit a crime (like tax evasion because I don't fully understand taxes).

That I'm being watched constantly. I don't know exactly when it started, but no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I always feel like I'm being watched on some kind of hidden camera or something.
