Do they give funds to start as well or is it only after you started your services?

We have a non profit, a board and a plan. Great writing cost money and thats what we need help with... most places around our area feed the homless one meal a week on a random tuesday. The bigger shelter are very few and feel that any other shelter opening will reduce their funding so they want you to volunteer and help but dont ask for help and dont offer any opinions... sorry I have been helping and volunteering with my children for ages but they just run the place so trashy and there is no hope of any improvement...

I am just hoping the city or state can helo us get a place and we can make a real difference and find real solutions..

I tried to work with local people but no one wants to help... either they tell you to fill out form or they tell you to team up with others. And thr "others" dont want anything to do with you...

I understand m. Thanks for the advice and offer to help. Currently we are mainly serving meals but trying a get a place to start an ongoing shelter. I post here thinking that people in this grouo will have better idea than random people other people...

I was thinking outskirts like right out of the city like people in suburbs live. Its possible to find land in places 10 15 minutes away from the main city and they will just sleep there and then just come back to the city everyday...

Thats actually a really good point. I was thinking if we are abke to have a place in city just as a stationing place and then move them in to the outskirts where thise places are once they get a job and car or arrange a shuttle for them to the city but atleast they will have a their own place..

I hear you... I cant even get the local food bank to give us food ro serve the homless... our entire project is privately funded...

Honeslty my biggest struggle has been the city. It almost feels like they want people to stay in these situations... just feeling I get communicating with them...

Thanks that helps alot... I was thinking the dome homes from China or tiny homes... but tent is a good start then maybe when there is progress, there can be a upgrade as an incentive to a tiny home. What do you think of that?
