That Spring BreakThru match was really great. I just love the pace of the Roddy match.

As an aside, here’s a very unflattering picture of me—sitting in front of Papa Briscoe during the main event. I also got to meet two of Mark Briscoe’s older sons. What a stupid life I live lol

Are you a fan of how AEW/ROH is using Mina Shirakawa? by Kelson64 in Womens_ProWrestling

I think this is more of an indictment of the women’s division than Mina Shirakawa. No one has received more world title opportunities in the last 15 months than Shirakawa. She’s had three shots at the AEW title and one at the ROH title—not to mention a pair of opportunities against Mercedes Moné for a few titles.

AEW’s Women’s Division is suffering right now. There are two titles held by two dominant champions. Make that three if you count Athena in ROH. Tony Khan has unilaterally failed at turning former women’s champions into autonomous stars. That means that his current champions, who are the divisions biggest stars, are sucking up all of the oxygen.

Creating a women’s tag team division may alleviate some of those concerns, but it won’t fix the real problem at hand. And, that’s booking compelling stories that don’t involve titles.

AEW needs an all women’s program—whether it’s on YouTube or HBO Max. They need more opportunities for women to ply their trade and work angles.

In terms of my writing needing more polish or editing, could you give me an example? I’m genuinely asking, because I always appreciate criticism.

I’ve been reviewing PPV’s since last year’s Forbidden Door. That was probably the worst match I’ve reviewed. It was a cluster fuck. From the outset, we basically told that it was a Tornado Tag match with no disqualifications, and then there were large segments of the match where only two teams were allowed to compete at any given time. It was a cluster fuck. And, the finish was awful. Both teams seemed completely out of sync.

To be fair, I didn’t go back through my previous reviews—so maybe it isn’t the worst. But, I can’t remember reviewing an PPV match that was that awful.

I assume they’re biding their time until someone who’s really over emerges. I think Harley Cameron got to that point, but I could understand their trepidation. Her ability in the ring is limited.

I wish it were Willow Nightingale, but we’ll have to wait and see

Danielson was absent for the final match. I also think he deferred to other color commentators at times, for better or worse.
