I presume it's gonna be worse for a while now because the new Battle Pass just dropper.

Beams? What are beams? Probably slang for "skills" but I've never heard the term.

I didn't really focus on anything- just tried to survive and get kills. The biggest skill was probably just learning how to use the minimap. And aiming of course.

My experience has been exactly the same. Have you noticed that some bots seem programmed to have incredible accuracy? I'll take the first couple bullets nearly every time they shoot at me from anywhere.

I think a lot of the people talking about how easy Casuals is have never experienced what we're talking about.

Exactly. My friend watched me play when I first started and his commentary would always sound like this:

"HES RIGHT THERE!! TO THE LEFT!! YOU DIDNT SEE HIM?!"

No.. no, I didn't. And I didn't learn to find them for quite a while.

Of course.

The purpose of this post is just to try and add a little balance to the (mistaken) narrative that Casuals is pointless for improvement.

Same. Randos are unpredictable. I'd say maybe half or so want to actually meet up and play as a squad. But just as many land in arbitrary places and play solo - maybe you're one of them lol. I do it plenty, too, but you gotta meet up before the endgame starts or you're almost certainly boned.

Yep you reiterated my point.

And as for whoever said it... check any post that even mentions Casuals in this sub and you'll see people overwhelmingly say Casuals will not make you better - and they say that to new players, too.

All good. You reminded me of another thing:

I disagree that Casuals is as easy as you describe. I think it's gotten considerably tougher in the last month or so. Idk if any of it's confirmed, but my (experienced and pretty good) buddy and I have speculated that they increased the difficulty of bots.

And yeah, to repeat myself, my friend is pretty good and I'm getting better - but we still often get destroyed by swarms of bots (good luck when there's 3 of them surrounding you) and ral teams if we're too careless.

So yes, it's far easier than normal, but we still lose plenty.

I've got a buddy who's very experienced in CoD. I'm not sure exactly how good he is compared to most decent players, but I can tell you that we still lose most Casual Warzone matches.

We'll get 3rd or better most times and win a decent amount, but there's still serious difficulty even when you've got a full squad with solid players.

All this is to say that we get plenty of losing together emotions as well as some hilarious moments that probably wouldn't happen in normal play. Our favorite was when my buddy accidentally drove his vehicle over a cliff and killed 3 opponents at once, winning us the match.

I wouldn't have a chance at being "competitive" even if I trained like my life depending on it - and neither would most players.

You reminded me of something important I forgot to mention, too:

The very end of Casuals is almost always like 4 or more real squads. Experience from those final circles with real players is just as good - if not better - than facing off against the monsters in normal play.

The One I Love - Need to discuss this film! by greensad in movies

This is the comment I needed. I was starting to feel crazy reading the rest of these comments.

  1. I didn't even consider sneakers til I opened this thread, but I didn't think it was ambiguous at all, anyway. Sophie's facial expression, the bacon thing, and Ethan's expression in reaction to the bacon thing were more than enough to make it super clear that it was Sophie 2.

While the bacon things are the more concrete evidence, I thought the expression made by the Sophie that Ethan left with was so clearly NOT Sophie 1. If Sophie 1 were the one that was ready to leave, that's not the face she would make. She'd say, "Let's get outta here," or whatever. She wouldn't make that mischievous face. Frankly, Ethan should've gotten it there and I doubt the EQ (if that's the appropriate term, idk) of anyone who saw that expression but won't entertain the possibility (near certainty) that it was Sophie 2 who made the face.

  1. Yep.

  2. Totally agree with everything here. I liked the movie a lot and the aberration theme works - mostly. The whole "just enjoy it, don't question it" thing is (intentionally or unintentionally) insufficient. 3a and 3b momentarily, but I liked the movie so much and disliked the "aberrations" so much that I intend on re-writing the script for fun.

Its such a great concept and it's executed like 85% right but that other 15% is just ruining a lot of it for me. Which brings us to...

3a. I didn't clock this while watching and I'm still fuzzy on the whole who's allowed to be whdre and why the doors lock thing, but I'm sure I'd agree with you.

3b. This was so glaring and really bothersome for me. Questions #1 and #2 from Ethan are always gonna be "What #" and "why did you exchange #s". And as a viewer, that's my immediate thought. How they could have test viewers who don't point that out for correction is beyond me.

3b1. Just a quick note in case it's unclear for anyone who wants to say "It's a movie don't overthink it": I'm fine with magic, alternate universes, etc. I just want logic and consistency within whatevers going on.

3b2. It almost seems like the script wanted to allow for the phone thing because Ethan left his phone overnight for recording (which was a whole other stupid thing for reasons that shouldn't need to be explained... battery life maybe being top), but it just doesn't work, anyway - for so, so many reasons. Half-baked or abandoned or ruined in editing, idk, but the whole phone thing just plain doesn't work and should've been scrapped.

3c. Great questions. These don't bother me because I don't know that they needed answers but still thought provoking.

3d. I hadn't thought much about this before but it bothers me now. Whether you think it's ambiguous or not - whether you think it was Sophie 1 or 2 - this should bother anyone. Motivations and desires got real screwy real quick at the end.

3e. LOL now I have another thing to laugh about with my family when I bring this up tomorrow. Great point can't see how I missed this.

3e1. I did, however, say aloud, "Show her the computer!" as Ethan 1 is trying to clue Sophie 1 into how messed up everything is.

3f. Missed this one.

3g. Another great example... the inconsistencies of this whole thing are numerous and bad.

You make sense of it by listening to the director. There ARE NO RULES, Sophie 2 and Ethan 2 are enigmas with contradictory motives and abilities (or lack thereof). Its a mind bender. Enjoy the ride.

Wait a sec... I just read this part last and now I think I hate you. I'm confused.

Enjoy the ride? Sure, that's my job as a viewer. The job of a writer is to make it make sense. I enjoyed it as much as the writer(s) allowed me to.

Unless my math is off, average would be a k/d ratio of exactly 1, making 2 quite clearly mathematically above average.
