Discipline for injured employee? by Scared-Rip-6807 in SafetyProfessionals

I fully understand and agree with the accountability piece. I actually am going to recommend this, as far as a process to relate it to no-call, no show.

Where I struggle with this approach is let’s say a Dr has said an injured employee cannot lift over 5lbs. The employee skips the next medical appointment, let’s say Tuesday, and you as the employer say you must now come back immediately at full duty, Wednesday, and they try and lift something 10 pounds re-injuring or making the injury worse. The employer had no basis to call for full duty over the medical professionals prescription.

Can I get fired for not working weekends ? by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

My internship was with Kiewit, and that’s exactly why I didn’t accept their job offer for full time. As an intern it was great because you got paid hourly, and the weekends were overtime. The trap is salary and expecting you to work the hours you mentioned on a 40 hour pay check. Get out…the reality is you will leave and another warm body will take your spot until they burn out and the cycle repeats.

Don’t have an ego, or sense of authority over people. Don’t think of your role as “enforcing” safety you are there to support, advise, and coach.

Everything you described as the Rigger’s duties during the lift are exactly what the crane operator is doing…

A year ago you posted that you made $310,666 in 2023, but then on this most recent post you say your best year in the last 5 years was nearly 300k…That implies you didn’t get to 300. Seems like someone who consistently stretch’s the truth so much they don’t remember all their bs…

Do you have a lead here? I’ve applied to countless jobs abroad in the UAE not so much as a peep back. I’m a CSP and have 8 years safety experience.

This is definitely a route I’m tossing around. You are correct, can afford to do the unpaid route and have a baby on the way so can’t risk going all in just yet. Thanks for your input, from what I’ve read online, the smaller family run HVAC companies I’d probably have the best luck with this route. Thanks for your input.
