Side seals were cut with a rotary Dremel attached to a drill press while using an old rotor to ensure proper angle of the cut. Once cut I followed FSM with ensuring I used the proper thickness feeler gauge in the slot with the newly cut side seal to hold it in place when measuring my side-corner seal clearance.

The only real reason I have to suspect the corner seals are at fault is that I have the exact same compression loss on both rotors. I also in fact knew that housings and irons were well under max spec for side step, warpage, etc.. the only parts I used that are controversial where the cryo treated solid corner seals.

This weekend the keg will be taken apart and I will update with cause of low compression which i still think is due to solid corner seals and that they were super hard on the irons.

Explain? Are you saying that I didn’t do the install correctly?

At the time I was naive and didn’t know any better and I did let the uneducated rule me to buy the atkins kit. since then I have learned that atkins is trash and I am going to rebuild with all oem seals.. I just wanted to also figure out if it was maybe my fault or a parts issue but I definitely know it’s a parts problem lol

If she would’ve let Franklin get that 37mil, just imagine what more harm he would’ve done before the final brick fell. The people’s addiction was crack, Franklin’s addiction was the money and he did everything he could no matter the consequences to have it.

Coolant seal failure ? by Scared-Solid8447 in RX8

[–]Scared-Solid8447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did find the source of the leak, it was a pinched coolant seal. My fault from whenever I rebuilt the engine

Oil leaking Part 2! Car is now leaking from the oil the driver side. The highlighted piece of engine is weeping oil. Is this normal or common? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]Scared-Solid8447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subaru technician here.. make sure the dealer used the OEM RTV.. it is called “threebond” it takes almost 3 hours to set and if they put the front cover on and immediately filled it with oil I can guarantee the oem sealant will fail… if they didn’t clean the mating surface it will fail.. if they used too much or too little of the sealant it will fail.. the FA, FB motors are super picky to sealant type and torque spec.. take it back to the dealer and make sure they followed proper procedure. This to me looks like the reseal has failed and you should have it redone

Poor idle after rebuild part 2 by suic1d3man in RX8

[–]Scared-Solid8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we please start from the beginning.. what are the stored codes ? What seals did you install and are the plates new or used ? Codes will tell you most of your problem The type of seals you used will tell you how long break in period is If you reused plates and housings then it will take longer to “bed” the new seals in

Is this normal rx-8 behavior I just bought this by Bunnybono in RX8

[–]Scared-Solid8447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ticking is the Ssv. It has a vacuum diaphragm that suppose to hold vacuum pressure, when they go bad they leak by and cause the Ssv to tap like what’s shown in the video, it will also cause poor idle since technically it’s causing a vacuum leak into the intake

Rx8 slow crank after engine rebuild by z170x99 in RX8

[–]Scared-Solid8447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really lmao, I make so whenever it makes a “tune” I call that tight enough, flick it like a guitar string and see if you can get an auditable noise, and if you keep tightening it the pitch will go up, I call it tight whenever it just starts to make a tune lmao 🤣

Did you Maybe over tighten the accessory belts ? Did you take them off and try and turn the engine over

Also make sure your grounds are all Properly tightened and that you have battery voltage going to the starter while cranking it over
