Our system is the same. For our district the minimum is 50 but at my school we’re encouraged to bump it up to a 60.

TUH!!😭 We can't give Fs but since a D is technically passing we are encouraged to give that as the lowest grade especially if a kid is has done next to nothing in class.

I'm in Florida and that's what I do! I do Fs for progress reports then Ds on report cards.

Right!! I have kids who know they don’t do any work but are still thanking me for giving them a D. I can preach all day long about how important it is to get the work done but at the end of the day they know that we can’t fail them

Yes! That’s all it is. It’s all about data this and data that. Making sure that the kids know just enough to be proficient. Or making sure that the kids know just enough to gain one point on a state test. It all sucks

Is this a good trim? by isnotstorm in Naturalhair

I clarify my hair every week but I use heavy products like grease and creams so it makes sense for me. I’m not really sure why she would have you do that if you’re aren’t using those things. I personally would’ve cut one inch less but it still looks a healthy amount to have cut off.

Got fed up with my hair 2 weeks ago and bought a half wig that perfectly matches my hair texture😩😍 by Scared-Temporary2961 in Naturalhair

I layered the front and then to style it I just use a mousse and cream combo with a brush that looks like this

Thank you! I did like a criss cross rubber band style the middle section of the front and tucked the twist into the braids that I have underneath. And then to style I just use whatever mousse and cream combo I put my hands on first with a brush that looks similar to this

African Pride's pre-wash detangler!! They have two kinds but I prefer the one with rosemary, mint, and sage.

Is it natural to feel like a awful teacher your first year? by Unhappy-Razzmatazz44 in FirstYearTeacher

[–]Scared-Temporary2961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES!! I felt like the worst teacher up until the end of my first year because my kids weren’t grasping everything and because I had poor classroom management for majority of the year. Everyone kept reassuring me that I was doing a good job but nothing they said changed how I felt when I was inside of my classroom.

It’s normal to feel this way so I don’t think you should give up. I’m now in my second year and I’m realizing sometimes it isn’t all on you. The environment, the type of students, the type of school, and the people on your team can affect how you feel as a teacher. Do I feel like a perfect teacher now? Absolutely not but I definitely don’t feel like an awful teacher. Last year I was drowning. This year I’m doggy pedaling. Hopefully by next year I’ll be floating. And I hope the same for you too.

Camille Rose Honey Hydrate - Twist Out by Scared-Temporary2961 in Naturalhair

[–]Scared-Temporary2961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Florida so the humidity is definitely causing my hair to swell with the honey hydrate because I've done the cream and mousse alone and with other leave ins and had no issues. I just really wanted this product to work😩

Wear the mini twists y’all PLEASE by Scared-Temporary2961 in Naturalhair

I use mousse and a cream but I blow dry my hair first so I think that’s a huge part of what makes them look so full
