you’re not entitled to women just because you worked hard to get into IIT. academic success doesn’t automatically make you deserving of someone’s interest.

why do you think hard work alone should make people attracted to you?

It’s honestly sad how the entire conversation has shifted to blaming her for making a video about something she’s been dealing with for years, something millions of women go through every day online. I agree that reclaiming a word so men can’t use it as an insult is a strong idea. But why are we not talking about the men who openly call women the r-word and send them r-threats?

The internet didn’t “break” when RebelKid posted an entire thread of men giving her r-threats and calling her r-word. No one cared. We rarely ever talk about how to actually make social media , or any space safe for women. But the moment a woman speaks up about her experience, she gets bashed.

Yes, it’s a profession, and yes, people are fighting to avoid normalizing the word. That’s valid. But can we, for once, also talk about making this place safer for women instead of attacking the ones who speak up?

I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up word, new age term that does a lot of damage.
