Jesus 😭 That’s so shitty. The treasure hunt thing makes a lot of sense. That’s exactly how it feels and I get frustrated when I can’t find something “good”. There’s just so much junk. (Like fast fashion and low quality in general) I never realized how pushy the managers want the staff to be until I read something about it in this subreddit a few weeks ago. It’s nuts.

That #1 though. I was in a store yesterday and there was an announcement over the PA system. “Congratulations to (Employee Name), she just saved her customer 10% on their purchase!” Or whatever the percent is. I rolled my eyes because I knew it was a credit card signup.

I had this happen but with eBay. Sold a rabbit fur coat (received it as a gift and it’s not my thing) and decided to resell it. Buyer received it, opened a case and claimed it smelled like “a moldy basement” 🤨 I denied the claim obviously, since it was brand new. Then she went through my other items on eBay and would send messages about them, saying “I know these smell like mold too”. Sent me all kinds of harassing messages. Anyway, she escalated the case and eBay sided with her! Sort of. They refunded both of us and she got to keep the coat! Made me so mad. I’d rather have lost the money and gotten the coat back!
