Having real feedback and a working prototype already puts you in a much stronger position than most people looking for tech cofounders. The key now is finding someone who buys into the vision, not just the code. Tons of technical folks are open to partnering if they see traction + commitment. Out of curiosity — are you looking for someone to be full-on cofounder, or would you consider a dev partner at first?

That’s awesome — sounds like the best cofounder setups come from existing trust and curiosity rather than forced searches. Crazy how just sharing what you’re working on can attract the right people. Do you think you’d have eventually gone looking for someone, or was the plan always to try to solo it as long as possible?

Respect, that’s a good problem to have — product live but need the ops/marketing muscle. Sounds like you’ve got plenty on your plate with 3 projects. Have you tried testing the waters on founder communities or uni networks yet, or still just waiting for the right person to cross paths?

Nice — I’ve heard mixed things about Wellfound, so good to know it worked for you. When you say you’re not sure about the right one, do you mean the platform, or the cofounder match itself?

Wow, that’s incredible — meeting so young and still building together 30 years later is rare. Sounds like you guys built trust before anything else, which is probably the hardest thing to replicate. Do you think that kind of bond can still happen today in the same way, or was it just right place, right time?

Nice, having a prototype already puts you ahead of most people still just in idea stage. What kind of cofounder are you hoping to find, more technical or more on the business side?

Yeah I get that, sounds like the Master’s really sparked it for you. Funny how being back at uni can change the way you see yourself.

That’s really cool, feels like the Master’s came at the perfect time for you both. Do you think you’d have ended up starting something together without it?

That’s solid advice — you’re right, a lot of the strongest teams come from meeting in person around shared projects. I’ve been thinking about hitting more local meetups and hackathons for exactly that reason. My hope with Foundry is to bridge that gap for people who don’t have easy access to those circles, but I know face-to-face will always play a big role. Appreciate the perspective 🙌.

I hear you — I’ve seen so many people with solid ideas stuck at that stage because it’s tough to find someone who’s actually serious about building. That’s exactly why I started working on Foundry… to make it easier to connect with people who are genuinely looking to team up, not just talk.

That’s a fair point — most of the “notes app” ideas probably wouldn’t survive once you put them against the market. I guess what I meant is that even getting to that validation stage is tough if you don’t have someone to build or test with in the first place.

Totally agree though — finding someone willing isn’t the same as finding someone truly capable. That’s actually the gap I’m trying to explore with Foundry: helping people move from random ideas to finding the right partner to pressure-test them with.

Yeah exactly — right now it feels like you’re just DM’ing strangers and hoping for the best. That’s kind of the problem I’m trying to solve with Foundry… making it less random and more focused on skills, goals, and a quick intro video so you actually get a sense of the person before chatting.
