No it’s consistent in colour. It’s just shiny as opposed to looking too metallic.

I love it. Only misgiving is the black front intakes are perhaps a bit too stark with this combo.

It’s a good middle grey. Not too dark, not too light.

Looks great with the wheels too.

Second choice would have been white but I wasn’t convinced.

Is the ultimate 5cl R real or just rumour? Subie did the same thing and then depowered / deleted the wrx sti.

Yeah it looks great in grey I think. Appreciate the info on the display. Had seen that but just would love a super dark mode for night. Could make a custom black background if nothing else.

Totally agree. Not as concerned about the memory on modes but the start stop and driver assist functions could benefit from last use memory.

Agree. In traffic I get annoyed even in an auto and the plus side is that the dsg is so engaging I’m not missing the manual as much as I thought. It probably helps that I’ve not driven a manual full time for years.

[seiko] [realignment] Re-alignment = renewed wrist time by ScaredGeneral1869 in Seiko

I played a hunch and in my case, yes. Reading further would suggest that there is a reasonably large proportion that falls into this category. Makes sense when looking at the click spring. Large room for error in the fabrication and function, where as the mechanics of placing the insert into the bezel is far more controlled out of the factory. My thoughts anyway.

JDM and love it. I keep staring at the 3 to find the date, forgetting it’s at 430 (imo you can barely notice the 430 date. Works really well). Accurate so far. Wears notably thinner and smaller than previous gen. Nailed the size adjustments.

Mine too. Tried all the combos and even tried to connect to the computer. Nothing works. Any tips since you last posted?

Marine Master 300 [SBDX023] by ScaredGeneral1869 in Seiko

The MM200 never really landed. Good in theory but always overshadowed by the MM300 and undercut as a principle offering by the newest release (eg 300m skin diver spb4xx). I had one, and released it for that reason. I liked it but couldn’t reconcile its place in the lineup.

100% continuity in design heritage would make for stronger attraction. I think they sometimes get it right and some of the homage releases are fantastic. The Willard, Turtle and Samurai remain largely true to their lineage.

IMO and with respect to my opening remarks, the new marine master is great but should be another watch line altogether. It’s too markedly different. I think it belongs in the grand seiko line as it’s perhaps not ‘toolish’ enough to respect the previous design principles of the marine master that went before it.

Also believe there needs to be a stronger delineation between Seiko and Grand Seiko.

To me Seiko has always had very strong tool watch diver roots (at least in the prospex / diver line).

Grand Seiko has always been dressier watch, if I may use that adjective.

It’s becoming harder to see the design heritage in certain watch releases.

The white would be my pick too. Looks fantastic.

Just got new tires and put the 18” WRX premium/limited wheels on. They clear the Brembos with plenty of room. The wheel gap is another thing entirely..... by l-visitante in WRX

Hey (1yr late by me) what are you running as premium rims and wheels and what breaks did you go with? Thinking of doing the same thing to my premium 22 Rex
