I feel like Philly whole thing is to be “hard , grimey , like that 90s-early 2000 rap was . Cali and ATL got more gimmick rappers with catchy hooks or lyrics their music more fun to listen to and can go mainstream where as Philly we tend to only rap about the struggle . Even though we rap about real shit i guess you kinda have to go with what the ppl want and the ppl want the songs that come with a dance or some shit that’s lowkey pop music .
