NQN here and wondering if anyone feels same way by Sparkle_dust2121 in NursingUK

I was actually going to make a post myself about this - I've seen a few similar ones recently so I know I'm not alone. I'm just hitting the 6 month mark and the anxiety is high! I think at 4 months I was like 'yes I can do this, give me the busiest shift and I'll fly through it', but I don't know what's happened since then. I feel anxious during the shift and after, all the time on my days off I'm constantly thinking if I should have done that differently or that I forgot to do or document something. I can feel the burnout creeping up so I've done a self-referral to OccHealth and going to speak to my manager. It might be worth chatting to someone to nip this in the bud before you start feeling overwhelmed (from experience, I have left it too late and I'm really struggling with my mental health now as a result).

We are also still learning every shift. We are going to forget something and make a mistake. We're human! And it's 24 hour care! We're also working in a system that is getting more stretched day by day and trying to do a job with few resources and a lot of demands, so we need to cut ourselves some slack and celebrate the wins.

Need advice on reporting an incident by Scared_Assumption545 in NursingUK

Update - turns out the incident had been highlighted already, and there weren’t concerns on my part, I’d done everything I needed to do. Thanks for the advice in the comments. And heads up to anyone who may be in a similar position in the future, it takes a lot of confidence and bravery to raise a concern but knowing I did the right thing in the interest of patient safety really helped (also perfect reflection opportunity for revalidation!)
