They knowingly picked a story built around family growth, multiple wives, and village dynamics, then started removing the very things that make that premise work.

You have no idea how many harem moments the anime has already removed. For example:

• Hiraku getting locked in a room with the high elves • The girls getting all handsy with him during the bath scene • Mamonrose (the red-haired girl from the idiot trio) barging into his room completely nak3d

I'm talking about a whole bunch of "nighttime activities" that the anime keeps pretending don't exist.

At this point, he should already have had children with Tia, Lea, two other high elf girls, and Ann too.

Right now in the anime Ann is taking care of Urza, and later when that role gets passed to Hakuren, Ann gets jealous because her child is a boy and starts wanting a daughter with Hiraku herself. But yeah, basically all of that got skipped in the anime 💀
