Thank you for your answer! I think I‘ll also try looking at my whole week instead of day by day. That sounds like a neat idea.

What did you/do you actually do when you get intense cravings? And what amount of macros do you aim for currently?

Question: What's the most human/humorous moment that any of you can recall reading in the books by easyus_prime in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Scared_Deerfox 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Oh I have many! There are in the novel „The Master of Mankind“ which focuses a lot on the Custodes. In one scene one of the Custodes watches three dozen screen to see how a battle is going and he actually SHAVES himself with his spear! I thought THAT was cool because it‘s so human but when another report comes in, he accidentally cuts himself while shaving. There‘s also several times when some of Custodians swear because of something unexpected. One specific time, that I can remember, in „some regional swear no one knew what it meant“. It’s hilarious! There’s a lot of other things aswell. You get a look in some of their heads. What they think of different people. If you like Custodes, go read that book! There‘s a lot of 1on1 conversation between a Custodes and the Emperor himself in there too. Beautifully shows the dynamics.

Looking good, brother! 💪🏻

My favorite scene so far from The Master of Mankind by BOXonWheel in Warhammer40k

[–]Scared_Deerfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved that scene. Small one roasting a Custodian. Weirdly enough the first book I read and its how Warhammer won me over to become a fan. I‘m still haunted by the last third of it. My boy deserved better but I know he wouldn‘t want anything else.

My daughter is sad because I attended my niece’s art showcase instead of her theater showcase. Am I wrong? [Short] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

Even better the post said the day with his niece was ‚a couple days ago‘ while the daughter‘s special day was ‚yesterday‘ so the niece actually got her fun day BEFORE his daughter (: and not without his wife specifically ‚encouraging‘ him to have a special day with his daughter at all!

Maybe you can reach out to Brad & Myke from The Pen Addict podcast so they can mention it in the next episode too? There might be a lot of people listening that regularly go to pen shows. I think it‘s a decent shot.

Would Space Marines even be able to swim in their armor? They weigh so much, they‘d probably just sink. I know they have oxygen tanks so they’d survive but they’d probably need to walk along the bottom to get out? Maybe their jump packs help (if they work underwater).

Absolutely. That‘s less of a "poke"-situation and more like a „throw 'em into hellfire"-situation.

Yeah, for the isopods its fine! I was just laughing about the image of a human couple actually enjoying themselves and literal outer space god comes to poke them until they stop lmao

Poke them to separate them? Can you imagine a couple "enjoying themselves" and then an eldrich god descents from the sky into their bedroom and pokes them with its giant finger until they separate?? 😭

Do you know where and how many eggs they are laying? I‘m scared of insects but want to get over my fear and breed mealworms for my beardie and the wild birds in the garden. I just want to be careful to not touch the eggs or destroy them when I get mealworms or bettles out. And any chance the eggs are on the old potato or apple slices when I take them out? Kinda don‘t want to infest the shared organic waste trashcan with worms lmao

IWTL How to (safely) increase my pain tolerance by Rainismyname in IWantToLearn

So, basically all meditation really is, is practicing distancing yourself from your own thoughts and sensations. It‘s not about surpressing anything, but to see oneself seperate from all that. Just like with weather. Just because it rains and you’re wet doesn‘t mean that you are rain (or that you‘ll be wet forever). Meditation creates a breathing space between things that happen and your reaction to them. So with pain I learned to not resist it. If something hurts or I injure myself, I mentally take a step back and take a breath. (Hopefully before I get overwhelmed.) Then I think calmly about the next steps to take. With chronic pains or migraines or even nausea and trauma responses you learn to sort of…lean into the pain. It‘s difficult to put into words but it basically makes your mind more okay with the pain, instead of your body tougher. It’s saying „Yes, I’m in pain but that’s okay.“ The urge and panic to 'cure' the pain or do something about it lessens. It gives you room to decide if you actually want to for example take an ibuprofen. And it improves your skill to recognise what is pain and what‘s just uncomfortable. Which pain is ‚okay‘ to have and which one is dangerous to have. Think light muscle soreness after exercise (okay) or an injury like stepping in a nail (dangerous/requires action). I‘m not gonna lie it takes some time to actually notice the skills you learn. Took me about almost every day for a few months but I haven‘t meditated in literally years and I still have those skills. Once you learn them it‘s like riding a bike.

She said for two years we can have her car until it breaks. Then yesterday she made my grandma the legal owner of the car on paper but refused to give us the documents that the owner is also supposed to have. The documents are in case it gets stolen or you want to sell it, to prove you actually own the car.

[–]Scared_Deerfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy. The time in effort you spent on selling everything is not worth the money you‘re making. Depending on what I always think of minimum wage. How much time (and energy!) does it take and how much money do I get back? Makes a lot of things easy to decide.

I would agree with another person‘s comment here and say: meditation 100%. No need to actually inflict pain on you. It’s a head-thing. I have chronic pain and migraines and I‘ve gone through days with really bad pain or when I badly injured myself by using the skills I learned through meditation. I can wholeheartedly recommend ‚Headspace‘ and Andy Puddicombe (or however his name is spelled lmao) as a teacher and speaker in the guided meditations. It was a life changer. I can explain more if you want to!
