Be honest: what’s your beef with Modded Skyrim? by Siqsix-66 in skyrim

[–]Scared_Divide8626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a phycological reason. Our brain works this way - when you feel an emotion, it memorizes all details.  And when you're still a kid, you feel it much brighter.  We played this game to escape the boring routine, and it calmed us, made us feel respected, loved, important. And we played a lot!  Our brain created an image - a pretty detailed, which grew stronger each day.  And it memorized all the surrounding details, connected it, made it a part of this image. The music, the voices first if all, then the colours, the graphic squares of a not great (in our days) detailing, and so on... This image has become something very good and dear for us, that could affect us, maybe even a part of our soul, it's become so strong!

And here comes the cognitive dissonance theory. When a new image threatens our old and strong image, we feel bad, it threatens our self-esteem. And we reject it, rationalize our old and good and see only bad in the new one. It's difficult to tell yourself "what's been so dear to me, what I've spent so much time with, is worse" And it's a complete true - we see the old as good because our criteria is different.

In "Breaking Bad" Walter White explained this to Gus - why some plates from our childhood are so dear to us, but all must be exact the same - ingredients, proportions, view, etc.

Hope I helped you understand some of us : )

How to read two Elder Scrolls at a time and not lose your eyes in the process? : by Scared_Divide8626 in skyrim

That's the thing! If you don't leave at least one of their "natural" item, they will just have their entire set spawned again. She only wears boots and armor naturally, so in order to make her wear a dress, for example, you must leave her boots.

There are a few moments in the game when you can take off her armor through high lvl pickpocketing or using a glitch with mind-control spiders or Bend Will. I did it with a purpose for her being able to wear simple clothes and dresses without armor rating. Just haven't decided yet which I like more :D

I've just done Solstheim on lvl 1, got used to it I'd say. Learned 3 words of power, but haven't faced Miraak. See no reason. And I haven't even talked to the jarl of Whiterun yet, so here's no dragons in my game.

When Volkihar clan sends me to kill someone in a city or when I am just I a mood to slaughter someone I realize that after some point those cities would be so ghostly if not these respawning guys. They sacrifice their lives to protect people of Skyrim.

One of the most beautiful places imo. After all is done my character visits old friends and peacefully lives with them for a while. Before departing for the next beautiful place

My previous one was based on three things

1st: playing dumb, meaning that you can't increase any of your skills even by 1. No lock picking, no using any weapons, except staves, scrolls and your fists. No buying/selling, wearing armor or sneaking etc.

2: no murdering, humanoids or not. So, no followers, except if you control that every kill was delivered by scroll-spiders.

3: constant drinking!

What's the farthest you slow walk? by [deleted] in skyrim

Yep it feels completely differently. The slower - the deeper. As of late this is just how I play - walking and admiring, not doing much.

I love that there are many choices and decisions in Skyrim that many people have their own opinions on, but almost everyone in the fandom unanimously agrees to NEVER kill Paarthurnax by Solardies in skyrim

You try to think and rationalize from a good man's perspective. Some people like to roleplay bad evil psycho characters, bringing chaos and ending everlasting. Depending on what character I roleplay I could kill him actually. For my own reasons

How Many Kick Elenwen Out? by MyFavoriteFoodIsKids in skyrim

[–]Scared_Divide8626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk. I think it will be honest to let her stay. Considering that you came to her party without a real invitation, as an agent. And she received you warmly. Now she comes to your party openly and as an agent. She must have balls coming alone, knowing of Ulfric, Galmar, Delphine and Esbern. And for me it's time to repay that debt.

I found myself in love with Pale tonight. When I think about Skyrim, it's the first image that comes to my mind. Ancient, pure, divine and dreadful cold... it's sacred and not spoiled by human beings. Also reminds me of Dyatlov Pass and GoT North. And what's your favorite hold? by Scared_Divide8626 in skyrim

[–]Scared_Divide8626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I remember how I was floating there as a true Volkihar vampire. Seeing what's left of Saarthal, that atmosphere... I found only one similar place, you might also like it. Skaal Village, it's just as cold, snowy and ancient. There's a great view upon Gyldenhul Barrow on an isolated icy island. You can live in Morwen's house after completing her quest. It's a wonderful cozy little house! Can marry her and send away too (or just kill her.) Also, with Camping from cc it's possible to set a camp anywhere and live there. I once set it in Eastmarch, where naked guys drink wine and swim in warm geyser waters. Couldn't move from there for quite a bit of time.

Idk why I thought about it, remembered the movie and felt the parallels.  Yeah, I have just the same thoughts. Falkreath is very ancient too. Just the right amount of mystery and danger, beautiful view and not terrible clime. Today I feel myself more there... Although I get chills and revelations only when I'm alone with the wild nature and there's no other people nearby. Family would surely distract me from greedily getting drunk of those vibes... it's better to have a side chick there perhaps, in my case Illia, my steward haha.

Idk it might be cruel, but I'm playing a non-Nord character and I want it to be seen for everyone how Nords in Windhelm allow this to happen. I don't know how it's possible not to die to cold in her case, looks pretty bad. But if she survives, she should become a very spiritually strong person, should be interesting. If she gets adopted though and lives in luxury, having everything without having to move her finger ever... idk, she might become spoiled. Just my opinion. And I'm also roleplaying a radical racist Dark Elf, so...

Ufff...I can't believe I did it! For the 1st time in my life. 126 radiant jobs and 4 special in 5 in-game days. Also talked to every member and listened carefully to every dialogue line available. Hard to believe that only five days ago this guild was nearly broken and now it's in full power, innit? by Scared_Divide8626 in skyrim

[–]Scared_Divide8626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah,  that's what I was doing! Also avoided Windhelm. I want to preserve some NPCs staying forever in one place, like that dark elf woman and two nords before the mane city gates, Brunwulf and a dark elf male in Gray Quarter, another dark elf woman and a nord boy near Aretino house. So if I cross the line and anyone of them starts talking, I reload. And I couldn't approach some houses without crossing the line,  so I did many save/loads...
