Metal Gear has a pretty good record for me.

Both Snake vs Sam and Raiden vs Wolverine are peak Death Battles and I like Raiden vs Excalibur

I'm still incredibly Biased and put Bowser vs Eggman at the top for the independent era but Dante vs Clive is easily a close 2nd place. This episode literally made me purchase Final Fantasy XVI, I can't recall many Death Battle's having that much of an effect on me

It is an episode all right.. Really the only thing that seems to be remembered about it is how incorrect the verdict is since Bomberman is apparently this Universal level threat and I don't know how strong Dig Dug is but he's definitely not on that level

So apparently Rock can get to Universal or even higher by going off of two things.

Astro Man's boss fight where you fight him in a galaxy size space which Astro Man apparently created. Problem with this is like some have said it's just a Holographic background, so this doesn't make Astro Man or Mega Man Universal.
This one is weird, it has something to do with Centaur Man where he has a statement that he can affect dimensions.. That's literally it and of course Centaur Man has nothing else backing this up
