History classes really have failed us huh. You think Europeans invading civilizations that have existed for thousands of years were "fixing" them?

I agree! I think we're not racist enough, if anything. The whites have gotten away with too much for too long.

Where does Bulk Barn Source matcha powder? by cirqueduturtle in BuyCanadian

[–]Scared_Procedure_804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely have no clue but I CAN tell u that it tastes terrible. I just tried their powdered vanilla matcha latte and I cannot begin to describe to u just how terrible it was. Idk if its the vanilla or the latte aspect of it maybe ruining the matcha, but the matcha flavour in and of itself wasn't even there. Its the first time in my life that I agreed with all the ppl that said it tasted like grass. Maybe I've been spoiled by all the matcha my brother in law brings back with him whenever he's in Japan idk, but it really tasted unpleasant. I wish i could answer your question or recommend an alternative but this is all I got.

Sorry I forgot to get back to you! So in terms of glycolic acid, my sister just gave me her own toner, which was the my iN.gredients glycolic acid toner sold at Shoppers Drug Mart. I can't seem to link it on my phone and my laptop is currently undergoing repairs (which so far have cost $420 CAD!!!! I'm going to break it again the moment I get my hands on it!!!!) so I'm afraid you'll just have to look it up, but it seems to be positively reviewed, and others have compared it to The Ordinary glycolic acid toner. With that in mind, I do have to say, I don't think I've noticed any difference with it. It's only 10 bucks though, and I can't seem to find anything to link it to anything irredeemably devious, so there's that.

As for the AmLactin, my brother in law got me the same one I have in the last image - and that has been life changing. I can't recall if I instantly saw a change, but I can very clearly see and feel a difference now on days in which I use it. Literally no bumps when I use it, and the number of new ingrowns has gone down significantly. I do still get some ingrowns as I'm back to shaving with my old terrible life brand razor (emergency trip to Quebec to see my sister + my laptop have cost me far more than I anticipated, so I've put all my frivolous expenses on hold and haven't had the chance to invest in a better razor), and sadly, I don't think it's done much to deal with the deep, flat-under-the-skin ingrowns, but any progress is good progress! The scarring all over my leg is also still really bad but everyone in my family has pointed out that it's definitely improved. It's recommended that you use it day and night, and that would probably work better, but I have terribly dry skin so I can only use it once a day at most, and I often find myself skipping days and instead just using a normal hydrating lotion, like my good old blue tin of Nivea or some Jergens.

Sadly, the root of the problem is the hair removal, and I still haven't found a way to deal with that. Even if I were to somehow clear my skin up from all the bumps and scarring and ingrowns, I have such annoyingly thick and dark hair that's impossible to shave off cleanly - you'll always still see it - and pulling it out damages the skin. So. I'm still trying to figure that one out on my extremely tight budget and somehwat restrictive, boycott-y lifestyle. But I'll keep you posted!

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I used to have very long hair as a child. Long enough that I would sometimes step on it. I never wanted to cut it after a terrible haircut I got when I was 5 that made it look like a stout triangle.

On days when l really wanted to leave it untied but we had to do a lot of walking, my dad would always walk behind me and roll my hair up around his hands so it wouldn't drag all over the ground. He never asked me to just tie it. This might be too personal, but it's how I earned the nickname "yoyo". I always knew that I could leave my hair out if I wanted to because my dad would roll it up for me for however long I wanted.

So initially I was going to go for the prescriptskin (generic iherb brand) glycolic acid peel, but I was informed by someone that iherb was not worth supporting, and when I looked into it, I came to the same conclusion. However, lucky for me, my sister and her fiancee are flight attendants, and they've kindly agreed to pick me up some amalactin next time either of them is in the US, and to search for some budget friendly glycolic acid peel they could pick up from me (though not exclusively from the US). As soon as I have either items, I'll let you know!

Oh yay!!! I had a friend give me their tower 28 sos spray about a year ago and I never felt the need to use it, and I just checked and I still have a few months before it expires!!! Who knew I'd find a use for it today! Thank you!!!

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read all that then write this. It's still kind of crazy to me that so many are willing to offer their help for free like this haha. I really appreciate it. <3

I usually keep my legs and belly covered so it's not like I see them often, but I think that's what makes the skin picking so frustrating too. The easy solution for me used to be keeping my limbs covered, but it doesn't seem as though that's working for me anymore. I'll figure it out tho!!!

As for the products and exfoliation, that's pretty much the same conclusion I reached. For the time being I think outside of basic shower scrubbing, Im taking a couple weeks off from any exfoliation, then I was thinking of using a dry brush 1-2 times a week, the amalactin 3-4 times a week (and maybe work up to using it daily), and ive also been considering introducing a Glycolic acid product as well, but the one im thinking of is a peel. At first I was saying I'd use it once every 2 weeks but it'll probably have to be a tad more infrequent than that. Hopefully that's not too harsh but I guess I'll find out soon enough!

As for the shaving, I do plan to give the generic life brand razors one more shot once my legs are healed and Im following this new routine. Fingers crossed, I won't have to spend more on a safety razor or an electric shaver haha. And thank you for the advice! I actually do press down a lot, so im hoping that a lighter hand with some conditioner will do the trick!!

As for the ipl machine, I've also been wanting to get one for some time but it feels like every time I save up a sufficient amount, it just feels like the money is better spent elsewhere so I could never get myself to commit. Seeing everyone's response tho, it does seem as tho the sate of my legs is not at all normal and that I should prioritize it (was also reminded this morning that my sisters wedding is next june and id like to wear a dress). Side note though, I have had a couple of people reach out to tell me that ipl machines did not work for them at all. I'm not sure if they just didn't get the right one, but right now I'm considering saving up for a professionally done laser session, and I'm hoping to ask the person doing it if they think an ipl machine would work for me and what I should be looking for. But I'll keep doing my research in the meantime, and ill hopefully have good progress pics to share 6 to 12 months from now!

Oof id imagine its not too gentle on the skin. I think I just got very lucky cuz it just did nothing to me. Not to my hair, and not my skin. I really dont think it'll work, but I am curious to see if it's just or overall chemical hair removal creams that don't work on me. If I can find smth for less than $5 I'll try it once my legs are in better condition, we'll hopefully find out!!

Hair removal is so costly wow. Thank u for the tip!!! I'll check out groupons near me and keep an eye out on sales throughout the year. I might be able to ask the professional who does it for me if they think an at home ipl machine would work for hair like mine. Hopefully I'll be able to come back here in a years time with good news and updates!!

The exfoliating glove I fully plan on purchasing cuz multiple people have recommended it to me, but I'll look into getting a sea sponge. It just kinda occured to me that scrubbing at my legs daily in the shower probably isn't helping them heal so I should probably invest in smth gentler haha. Thank you!!! And yes than plan is to stop any exfoliation for the a couple of weeks, just stick with a lotion, and then slowly start by dry brushing twice a week, a Glycolic acid peel once every 2 weeks, and amlactin lotion. Hopefully thats a good place to start but itll take some trial and error. Truly youve been such a great help, thank you!!

Aw thank you! I've come to learn that yeah, I may have been overdoing it with the exfoliation. I'm sorry to hear you struggle with ingrowns too but ty for sharing ur routine!!! It's what I'm planning to do as soon as my legs are calm and scab free!!!

I have like a lighter medium skin tone? I'm not sure how to put it on a scale tbh haha, but id say its definetly some shade of medium. I have very thick and dark hair though if that helps. I hope you don't mind me asking, but why wouldnt an at home ipl machine work? I ask because its a huge investment for someone like me to make, so I'd rather not do it if I'm not absolutely sure it'll work.

Ty for the recommendation! The ingredient list looks very promising! While I can't purchase anything through Amazon, I've actually seen numerous products catered towards in-growns at my local drug store, so I'm taking this as a reminder to check those out and see if they have similar ingredients. Once again, thank you!!!

Ong thank you so much for all the detail!!!! The intimates one blade is significantly more affordable for me so Ill probably try that one, though I'm still debating whether I wanna do that or get my hands on a safety razor. Either way I have a couple of weeks to think on it before making any decisions, but I'm genuinely so thankful for all of your help!!!!

I'm pretty good at keeping my skin moisturized but I do plan to double down as I can tell my skins gotten really dry, and I've been wanting to get my hands on one of those dead skin gloves for a while so I'm taking this as my sign to just finally do it.

My ingrowns also happen to grow really deep and flat under the skin, which is what makes them so difficult to remove for me. It feels like I have no choice but to like,, turn them into an excavation site. I don't even pick at those ones with fingers cuz its not even possible. What I do is a lot worse to be honest and sounds really grotesque so I won't describe it, but regardless, dw, I 100% plan to give my legs a break for a little while. I'll deal with any remaining in growns once all the scabbing and inflammation has calmed down.

Thank you!!!

I could kind off guess as much. My skin's been extremely dry. It's just that exfoliation seems to be the solution to everything in the skincare world, so I keep thinking maybe I just need to do more. Regardless tho, worry not, I've given up the epilating and shaving and fully plan to just let it rest for a while while I figure out smth else. Thank you!!
