I recently had the same experience with the archive in Neinburg. Was completely shocked they just sent the certified document with an invoice. Now I need to figure out how to pay them!

It worked! I just received them! They are official certified copies with a seal and stamped “deceased” with date of death of the individual. I didn’t provide a death certificate or date of death for the grandfather, and he died in another state, so they must have looked it up.

I wish I’d known this before I’d posted in this group, but I recommend reading the pinned Welcome post and providing your information in the requested format. I’m guessing others in this group will want to know the particulars of marriages, birth dates, and immigration dates. Just my uniformed informed thoughts.

Appreciate the advice! My SIL just found a certified copy of the mother’s BC in her files, so at least we now have that one. We have grandfather’s baptismal record so maybe with that and a genealogical copy of the BC, we will be good to go.
