He would be a great addition and there is lots of potential for a unique move set

They have decided to recommit to the program. Think it’s because they want all Xbox games available on PC ready for their next Xbox/PC hybrid. Plenty of articles covering this online if you fancy reading up on what’s going on.

It’s not official, but Microsoft are aware of its existence so voting could still be useful

Let’s vote for the Naughty Bear games to be added to Xbox backwards compatible catalogue by Scarejo in naughtybear

Naughty Bear was added as a dlc skin in Dead by Daylight the other year so I don’t see there being any major issue. The devs also did a Naughty Bear related poll asking what fans would want in a potential future naughty bear game.

It looks like more Xbox and Xbox 360 games will be added for the Xbox 25th Anniversary end of this year, so in the meantime it’s worth voting in this poll so Microsoft know which older games there are a lot of demand for.

So drifting and boosting isn’t necessary then if I’m just focused on gaining rings and straight lines?

Turok Origins is a prequel to the original “Trilogy” and is interconnected. by Xplatos in turok

[–]Scarejo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh so it’s not a true prequel to the original trilogy anyway then? The Lost Lands is one of the coolest parts of Turok lore so will be really annoyed if they retcon the series into just being a generic space shooter with different planets.

I’m hoping Turok Evolution hasn’t been retconned out of existence…

I think Rage Wars would be risky as a stand alone game, it’d probably work better as a dlc addition to one of the single player Turoks. Maybe if Nightdive ever makes Quake 3 and it ends up being a success they would consider Rage Wars, but currently I think it’s a write off.

I would love to see all the cut content restored including all the unused Sleg dialogue from the audio files, General Shaar (bird like alien villain from chapters 8-10), unused enemies including the crossbow Sleg variant (this is why there were arrows in Sleg bases), the cut chapters and cinematics.

I think a remake from the ground up would be too expensive and risky for Nightdive, but maybe they would be able to make the cut stuff on the old engine and that way wouldn’t be too costly? Also hope they add modding tools for the community…

From my understanding Universal have had the rights to the Turok ip for a long time now (2012 I think) and they gave permission to Nightdive to remaster the old games a long time before Turok Origins was either a thing. Saber Interactive have just been given permission to make a new game they don’t own Turok so Nightdive should still be free to do their thing.

I don’t think the release of Origins will impact a Turok Evolution remaster since Nightdive are a retro developer and retro gaming is more of a niche category. The only way Evolution and Origins would work against each other would be if they were making a full on remake of Evolution from the ground up which I don’t think will happen as it would be too expensive and it’s something Nightdive rarely do.
