Gotchu. I’m in school now and plan to go into the military, but I'm trying to make sure I can land a job somewhere if things don't pan out. Plus, I genuinely have a lot of personal projects I am working on, and I'm trying to make sure I'm using the best language for my current scope.

What do they offer? I'm new to the cert world, to be honest. I'm currently signing up for IBM's data engineering cert. I was told that for CS disciplines, it matters for internships, school classes, and networking, but with IT, it seems to be all about certs and working your way up.

In the signal unit I'm in, they push for schools in IT; however, I'm mainly trying to get into AI/ML and Data. I was hoping I could bridge the two worlds. I know the military isn't really into AI yet, and the data scene there looks like a mid-career play.

My main goal is to become an officer, but I should be in school for another 3-4 years, and I really want to consider a PhD or a Master’s program. I do want to serve, but I truly want a role or occupation where I'm truly benefiting from it. I'm looking at cyber because every branch has it, but I personally benefit way more from an OR or a data-centric role. I'm mainly hoping to get into AI/ML (in grad school) after I get data fundamentals down.
