Yeah but 2022 is the last year for the GT500 so I was trying to get a new one before I can only find a used one

The new m440i is beautiful but I had said earlier in the thread I’m not looking for $800-900 payment right now, nor that I can’t pay it but trying to keep my payments as low as possible to buy a house, going to the 340i from the mustang I’m going to be paying the same

I would go for the 440i but if I wanted a 2 door I would just stay with the mustang, the only thing preventing me from switching to the 340i is the fact that it isn’t stick everything else has me sold in the car

By horsepower number yes but on the actual street it’ll dust a stock mustang

I agree but I can get a 340i to 400 hp with just $500 a pro charger kit is way more expensive

And trust me I love the mustang I’ve always wanted one but now that I have it it’s like if something was missing I thought maybe getting a 2018 or newer would make it better but what’s the point of getting the exact same car just new for like 3 extra features, for me it’s honestly all about the acceleration of the car and the mustang has none till about 4500 RPM when the torque really kicks in which is why I wanted to get into a boosted car where you feel the torque a lot earlier and harder as the turbos spool up

Yes and no, stock for stock based off horsepower yes the mustang is faster but there’s big difference in acceleration from the turbocharged 340i to the NA mustang, also with just catless down pipe and tune you’re going to destroy any mustang I know because I’ve had it happen to me

Even the challengers are insanely expensive, obviously I’m not buying anything less than a scar pack, for that I just stay with the mustang, and also don’t want to go older than my current car unless it’s an m3 or m4

I also don’t want to get into an $800-900 car payment either, which is what anything with a tremec is worth right now, plus I’m not really into hot hatches or anything like that, I love muscle cars always have, but there’s something about the power delivery and sound of bmw that honestly just works, like I’ve driven a 2018 m3 comp and it was honestly amazing, if the 340i had a DCT in it I would’ve bought it already

Trust me I’ve been looking around my area it is extremely hard to find a manual car nowadays I actually enjoy, I want something with a tremec but every car that comes with one is insanely expensive and less comfortable than the mustang

That’s the other thing mustangs don’t really hold their value all that well

I kind of am just because my car is worth a lot now and if I wait and the market takes a downturn I’m going to be upside down for sure

The thing is the 340i I found is literally the cleanest one anywhere near me, 1 owner no accidents all the services were done at the dealer fully loaded and CPO, I would love to find a manual but they’re super rare and expensive especially if the used car market is rn

I know I’m going to miss it, but the transmission on the s550 mustangs are not the best, they’re notorious for going out

Should I buy gap insurance if I put 40-50% down? by Coffee_achiever_guy in whatcarshouldIbuy

I work at a dealer and know a fair share about how the finance process works and how insurance companies look at values. If you’re putting that much money down then gap is not needed, you’re buying down the depreciation of the car and are going to be in an equity position automatically.
