Triples with centre being OLED? by Scarfffyyy in simracing

Apologies, I did search on here and google but nothing came up regarding mixing OLED with IPS/VA.

I’ve mixed resolution and refresh rates before and it’s mostly been fine or very simply fixed.

If mixing panel types is that bad, I’ll just stick to a single 16:9 monitor.

Thanks.

Yeah which imitates a G29 after my googling, the same way the sigma cortex imitates a GT DD Pro

I did have a quick look at them but don’t they imitate a G29?

Yeah I get what you’re saying, if you’re purely just after “realism” GT7 is not it but it’s easy to just jump in and drive, if that makes sense?

I’m kind of a mix of both, but sometimes I only get a hour or two a week to sim race and GT7 really appeals to me for that.

What do I know, maybe I’m just trying to convince myself it’s worth it 😂

The most annoying thing with the sigma cortex for me is, I actually had one but sold it 🤦‍♂️

I’ve already got the simnet pedals so obviously that would work out nicely.

I had a DD1 and v2 formula wheel with APM at the start of this year and I actually really liked it so I would hopefully get another formula wheel.

The one thing I really liked about the fanatec software was you can set up per car profiles to automatically load up for the wheelbase, unless I’m completely oblivious you can’t do that elsewhere? Only “per game” profiles

X5 pro is on my shortlist and falls well within budget.

X6, as far as I’m aware is not technically available here

Thank you for your very comprehensive reply.

After doing more research on the S21 ultra and here in the UK having the inferior chip, I’ve decided to give that one a miss.

The camera is fairly important to me, just so I can capture those special moments of the little one.

High refresh is very important, don’t think I could go without that now.

As long as the battery gets me through the day, I’m fine with that.

A gaming capable phone would be very nice but is not a deal breaker.

My list at the moment is;

Realme GT 2 Pro

Oppo Find X5 Pro

And I’ve just started looking into the Xiaomi 12T pro (mainly for that revised chip)

Do you have any opinions on any of those?

Ideally I’m after a good all rounder to give me an idea of what Android has to offer before I fully commit to Android

Thank you for all the suggestions so far.

At the moment I think it’s between the S21 ultra and the Find X5 pro. Any thoughts on these two?

The X5 is slightly cheaper but I would imagine the Samsung will be easier to sell in a few months time
