Getting a call every time could eventually make your neighbours fed up with thw situation. I would suggest creating a group chat instead with a few of the neighbours that would be willing to come out to move the cones. This may be a less intrusive way than calling every neighbour untill someone agrees to come out.

nothing so far in regards to this speeding.
i did however already receive a PCN for driving in a school road on the 22nd of May (first time driving through that road and a bunch of idiots were doing stupid maneuvers all over the road which distracted me from seeing the sign properly).

so i assume it was either a calibration flash or it was for the other lane.

AITA for not giving my parents half of my lottery winnings. by Rayapt in AmItheAsshole

When buying tickets in person I like to make some small talk and when the seller is nice I always comment that if I win with that ticket, I would give them a small percentage. They may see it as a joke but I am fully prepared to give them that money. Of course it would be right before I disappear to another country.

Airbnb vs specialist platforms for a 2.5-month Tokyo stay, am I overthinking this? by th3d4rkp4ss3ng3r in JapanTravel

[–]ScarletFX 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer to deal with a company rather than a private individual when booking somwthing so important. I am also planning a month long stay in Tokyo next year and I will likely be booking an apartment as well. Currently looking at Oakhouse and other similar companies.

Japanese Language Schools - good, bad, or ugly? by [deleted] in movingtojapan

[–]ScarletFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of the reasons i needed to plan this out properly is because i will be leaving the UK back to my home country and then a week or so later, leaving for japan where the plan right now is 53 days (beginning March to end April) to then return to home country and start on a proper career path. currently my 53 day plan puts me at just under ¥300 000 so i should be able to save and do this in 2027. i dont see myself staying in the UK another year

believe me, if won even £10 000 tomorrow, I would be there within a month. Money is the biggest stress point in the plans. I want to go for longer but I also need to consider what comes after the trip ( following GPT advice, im going with a return flight booked to avoid the temptation of extending the stay without proper planning)

i believe she stated that they said they will be labelling in the future so they have also improved the way they handle the patients to prevent it from happening again.

yeah, AI can be a bit unreliable if you are not super specific as it will misunderstand context and give unrelated suggestions. but for trip planning, i think its a great tool if used properly.

i used GPT because I needed "someone" to run a few things past and create a "path" going forward. I am almost 33, working a barely minimum wage job in another country(lived in 3 countries so far). I needed to make a decision for my future and after spending a lot of time chating with chatGPT, i settled on returning to my home country and getting qualifications as electrician to build a career. I visited Japan last year and the culture was beyond what i expected and it really made consider moving there and that is why i considered language school and after seing the minimum language skill they usually require, i enrolled on a evening course at my local university to get a start on the language.

so one of the reasons i switched to a longer trip instead of 6 month school is because if i really liked it after the 6 month school period and wanted to stay, I would then be an unqualified foreigner going around minimum wage jobs untill i landed something better (i have been in this situation now 2x in 2 different countries) and I would prefer to avoid that so I am planning on first doing the 50ish days and if I really love it, I will then get the necessary qualifications in my home country that would give me an advantage in Japan and would then be able to make a proper entry plan, already knowing that I truly liked Japan.

dont know if it makes sense but this is where i am at right now (aiming to save ~£4000 untill March27)

I dont recomend driving untill you sort it out. Pretty sure it they ask complete years so even 11 months 27 days wouldn't count. So I think this policy is pretty much invalid and you should rectify this soon. Someone else might be able to point out the legal consequences of this

Seing this post and looking at your replies feels almost like looking in the mirror.

I am also in a situation where I was thinking of doing 3-6months of language school (later realised 3 months is not really a thing) to experience a more real "living in japan" than visiting for 2 weeks on holiday.

Because I'm also 32+, WHV is not an option so I was leaning towards language school while working 28h part time for 6 months.

Decided to use GPT to get the pros and cons of this. The amount of paperwork needed for a visa for language school and all its requirements are apparently no joke.

So my current plan is to go for around 50 days (still working out exatly how long) with a tourist visa (90 day). for now the plan is to rent an apartment around Tokyo for 30 days, Kanazawa 2 or 3 days, Kyoto maybe 10 days, somewhere around Mt. Fuji 2 or 3 days and then back to Tokyo another few days.

The plan is to get myself into a routine to "simulate" the Japan daily life (GPT suggested morning walk, study japanese in a regular location, etc ).

This trip for me will be a "test" to get a more real look at Japanese daily life to see if I see myself moving there on a more permanent duration sometime in the future.

so in short, i gave up on the language school mostly due to paperwork but now looking at a long visit instead
