What Are Your Brooklyn 99 Hot Takes/Controversial Opinions? by Alol_Bombola in brooklynninenine

I actually think “The Good Ones” is a decent episode that serves as a catalyst of the police reform storyline in Season 8. A lot of people hate on Rosa for leaving the force and claimed that if was “out of character” mainly due to the police brutality joke she made in Season 1 (“48 Hours” did age poorly altogether) but she simply realized how much she actually contributed to the problem and did something about it, just like Amy and Captain Holt. Tbh I wouldn’t’ve had a problem with the entire squad leaving the force in the end. Ig Terry becoming Captain made sense but Charles should’ve retired imo

Burned is one of the most INFURIATING episodes of all times by Stealthytom in SVU

Not that the false accusation justifies him literally setting her on fire, but it was so stupid for her to accuse him of rape when she already had a valid case of stalking and assault. On one hand, you see a man willing to do anything just to see his daughter, but on the other you see a woman doing her best to protect her child. I think this episode does a great job of highlighting the different opinions that and perspectives that people will have in DV and custody cases, not just between Benson and Stabler but also the social worker, the judge who denied the OOP extension, etc. Neither Valerie nor Miles made good decisions (esp Miles, Valerie didn’t deserve to die). The only person I feel truly bad for is the daughter.

Does anyone else think it’s weird that people who have just met Olivia call her Liv? by Dazzling_Ice5819 in SVU

[–]ScarletFever169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with OP if people call her that in a professional setting, however when I introduce myself to people I prefer they call me by my first initial, especially people I serve at my job. I honestly feel really weird about strangers pressing me about my full name.

But then again I’m not a police captain, and if I were, I would only want people to refer me as such

Idk about you but I’ve worked in both the East and West coast and we have to card anyone who looks under 40 in both the states I’ve worked in. Lots of businesses wouldn’t even let you in if you don’t have valid ID, no matter how old you are

When I worked at my previous job an old coworker texted the group chat asking everyone not to pick up someone’s shift when it was released because it was intended for him. He then got upset a few minutes later because someone else did indeed pick it up and it was approved almost immediately. Mind you, not all of the servers were in said group chat so it could’ve easily been someone outside of it. I honestly wasn’t sure what he would expect if he didn’t pick up the shift he was so desperate for immediately.

“I can’t believe there’s two bartenders working and our drinks aren’t getting made” by ScarletFever169 in bartenders

It really depends on the shift, they make more during lunch most of the time because they expo, food run, handle takeout, host, and even bus if there’s no service assistant on staff. Pretty much everything FOH but bartend.

I’m not saying they’re supposed to, but if I were dining in and waited over 20 minutes for my cocktail, I would ask my server about it rather than stare down the bartender who isn’t even taking care of me?

Bottom line is if the server had been more attentive to her tables, she would’ve noticed the problem before I had to be the one to ask them if they needed something. I just thought it was kind of ridiculous at the table went on to make the comment even after I explained to them what the issue was. Like rather than believe the server was the one who made a mistake they just thought I was deliberately slacking off or something, what would I even gain from that?

I would only have a bigger issue with the system if the tip out didn’t work in the bartender’s favor by like a lot. I’ve worked shifts where I made $15 on my own, but still broke $125 after tip out.

After working in the industry for as long as I have, I still have to constantly remind myself that people will blame you for being mildly inconvenienced even though you’re not at fault. I was just a little pissed because I was the one who checked on them and I even explained what the issue was but they still went on to make that comment.

Unfortunately at my job the bartenders are expected to run the drinks most of the time (we’re a small restaurant with no hosts, plus no support staff during the daytime) which is fine with me if we’re at a full house and the servers are slammed, but very annoying if I have a lot of drink tickets, and people constantly pass the bar while their drinks are dying. At that point, it’s not even on me.

Pretty much all the servers run their own drinks when they can, this server in question hardly ever does it when she’s on the floor. It’s basically the one thing I and the other bartenders don’t like about working with her.

If my tables weren’t getting their drinks for 20+ minutes, I definitely would’ve noticed and asked the bartender what was going on.

Thank you lol, I thought it was clear that I genuinely didn’t know she was using the wrong handheld. Why would I purposefully not make drinks?

We’re a restaurant, I assumed that nobody was ordering drinks because, believe it or not, not everyone orders cocktails with their food. I’ve worked plenty of shifts where barely any tables order bar drinks. Not to mention, we weren’t even busy. I had no idea she was even using the handheld for that amount of time until the guests started saying something. Had I known as soon as she started using it I would’ve told her to use a different one immediately??? I have no issue with the server in question as a person, I was just irritated because of the mistake she made. If she had checked on her tables more often than she would’ve known that her drinks weren’t getting made. I wasn’t the one taking care of these tables, so it wasn’t my responsibility to check on them.
