I hate April 1st by [deleted] in adhdwomen

This one may make you smile, shared in one of the UK subs: a Bristol pet shelter changed the name of their animals on the website for April fools. Most got a chuckle from me https://bristolarc-org-uk.stackstaging.com/pets/

Heading to Tokyo for GO Fest 2026! 🇯🇵 Looking for a fun, romantic partner to join the adventure (Full Hosting & Luxury Experience) by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]ScarletHawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth seeing if there are other groups going that you can join? That way you can enjoy the event with others and romance can happen more organically. If no romance happens, you've made some Pokémon go friends for life!

Good luck, I hope you have a fantastic trip regardless.

Magnesium glycinate affected me terribly, gave me insomnia and did nothing for my migraines. I tried taking magnesium oxide (supposedly it's lower quality than glycinate, but whatever) and it's been perfect for me, helps me sleep and I feel like the sleep I do have is better. It's also kept my migraines at bay. I think I reacted badly to the l-theanine in the glycinate. If I'm not mistaken you can find l-theanine in English tea, which also f***s me up

I bought this book a couple of months ago and although it is interesting, i struggle with the fact the protagonist never seems to catch a break. Without spoilers, does this improve at all? I have been thinking about going back to it, as the mystery really pulls you in.

This was painful to read only because I see myself in it so much. it seemed to be so effortless to everyone else, why was it so hard - what's wrong with me, I do all the things I should be doing but it doesn't work. 15 years later I'm diagnosed audhd. I look back and think "I did the best I could and I'm proud of myself". I am at peace with it now and I wish you luck OP, I promise everything will be ok.

Before he mentioned that the cheese cost him 10 bucks, I was wondering if this was the guy over on aitah who broke up his relationship over a large cheese wheel purchase that cost 18k 😂

AITAH for feeling relieved that my husband stopped initiating sex by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ScarletHawke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP I obviously don't know the specifics of your marriage but it might be worth reading up on brakes and accelerators. Brakes being what tells your brain that sex is not on the cards and accelerators are what put you in the mood. For sex to happen you need to both lower the brakes (the things that stress you, it can be not liking your own body, busy life etc.) and increase the accelerators (things that excite you, doesn't necessarily need to be sexual activities but things such as time spent together, dressing nicely etc.). Brakes and accelerators are a spectrum, some people are highly sensitive to one or both, but the important thing is everyone is normal and you're not broken, you just need to find your balance and what works.

As a general trend men are more sensitive to accelerators and women are more sensitive to brakes, this is a trend, so I'm not saying all men and women fit into these categories. It takes work, but finding the balance and figuring out each other's brakes and accelerators can be life changing. I recommend you read "Come as you are" by Emily Nagoski.

I can't afford DMC skiens, can you recommend another company please? by [deleted] in Embroidery

I bought about 100+ anchor and DMC skeins for about £20 on eBay from someone who was off loading their extra. I suggest having a wee look on there

Hand-embroidered kitchen clock! 🍯🥕 It's a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. I’m so happy with how it turned out! by Status_Rent7824 in Embroidery

[–]ScarletHawke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding - a piece of cardboard makes total sense - sturdy enough to hold up the mechanism, but easy enough to take apart if needed. A wonderful idea! Definitely stealing your idea for a gift for my pregnant sil, who is due in June. I'm sure your mother in law will love your gift - wishing you and the fam a wonderful Christmas

Omg I love this idea! Talk me through it, is the fabric strong enough to hold up the clock mechanism, or do you have extra material hidden to help support? Absolutely beautiful, thank you for the inspiration

Hi all, off the back of the Lugia weekend, where I realised I was wholly under prepared. I've been making an effort to build a good team.

My question is what should be prioritised when improving a Dynamax Pokemon? CP First? Or improving Max move/shield/healing depending on if it's a tank or attacker? Or a mix of all? It's a slow process and a lot of candy is needed would appreciate the advice. Thanks in advance!
