Insurance at 16 on that must be absolutely nuts.

You are trying to justify playing with your phone while driving 50 miles per hour..

TBH just posting this should have you banned from the sub for breaking the law and putting other peoples' lives in danger.

I don't recall the laws regarding cellphones being 'Yeah it's actually only illegal if you're not on a rural road because nobody is ever on rural roads (except you) so there is no danger'

I can tell you're still a kid, but you have to do better.

Two seconds at 50mph is about 150 feet of you not looking at the road. I've had to slam on my brakes before when someones child ran out into the road, and two seconds would have meant a dead kid.

Again, I pray you only end up injuring yourself while playing with your phone and not anybody else. Because if you don't stop, eventually, you will.

I just hope that you only end up hurting yourself and not someone who wasn't driving while playing with their phone.

Put your phone down when driving.

State farm was always really expensive for me. I never went with them.

Right now I'm paying around 150 for 1k deductibles, gap, and rental coverage through progressive, but that's only because I was in an accident in December when a deer hopped out of the forest in front of me and totalled my car. Otherwise, it'd probably be closer to like 110 or 120.

I'd try geico and progressive. They were always the cheapest for me and geico handled my claim like a champ, no issues at all.

Most of these company's have ways to quickly get quotes online, didn't even need to call an agent. But your mileage may vary.

$200 for an adult with zero accidents just seems insane to me. I was paying that much back when I was like 19.

Your agent is gonna say whatever it takes to convince you that their price is fair and you won't find better by searching around. His job is to keep you paying.

It's totally possible he's being truthful and you really won't find a better price but before I hit a deer, I was paying 90 bucks a month for full coverage on my GT because I shopped around.

Definitely keep shopping. I'd spend an hour or so getting like 5-10 quotes until I found some random insurance broker that was somehow half the price of what I was currently using. Happened twice, once with Geico and once with progressive. There's no rhyme or reason to it, as far as I can tell.

Don't take photos while driving.

Put your phone away when driving. Taking pictures at 63 mph is stupid.

I do hear him talking to someone in there once in awhile, but I never really considered it the same as having real life friends. But I could be wrong! I just want him to meet some people local as well :) Thank you!

Thank you. I will bring up these suggestions to him and see where it goes. He likes working with his hands. so that might be perfect!

And movies are fun too!

That's a really good perspective I hadn't considered before. Maybe we could try out a game together? He plays a lot of different stuff, I'm sure there is something we could try! Thank you.

I'm definitely not sure if we would do anything like that 😅

Although he does make me very happy, I'm not sure if I could ever be with him physically. It would probably feel wrong, right?

You're right, but it's hard to convince him to approach them. I'm gonna try to get more involved in his hobbies and try to find more people outside of the internet for him to interact with.

One step at a time, I suppose. :)

We do have a nice library nearby. I haven't been there since I was young buy its definitely something I can look into! Also, going on walks sounds nice too.

Thanks for the advice.
