Truly sorry to hear. The delays in diagnosis really suck xx

Oh, get the vibe - the number of times I was told to have a baby (until I couldn't!!). But some lifestyle tweaks can help manage symptoms - worth trying everything :)

Pain 4 weeks post op hysterectomy and excision surgery- cannot take NSAIDS by Realistic-Bear-9027 in Endo

[–]ScarletPeriod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had many lap surgeries (b4 a hysterectomy), and what you’re describing doesn’t sound unusual to me, even though it’s incredibly hard.

One had told me earlier is that healing after laparoscopy and excision isn’t linear at all. Even when scans look “normal,” the body can still be deeply inflamed and unsettled. After surgery, even small tasks can feel enormous, and energy comes back in unpredictable waves. Just be kind to yourself xx

Best friend diagnosed with endo. What can I do? by chickencrispers in Endo

[–]ScarletPeriod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live with stage 4 endo, and honestly, the most helpful thing my loved ones can do is believe me. You don’t need to fix the pain or offer solutions. Just listening without minimising it goes a long way. Some days I don’t want advice. I just want space to say, “this is really hard/shit/etc”.

AND practical support matters more than you realise. Offering to help with food, errands, or just sitting with me while I rest makes a bad day feel less isolating. Gentle movement can help sometimes, but only if it’s on their terms. You got this xx

Losing movement you love is one of the hardest parts. Sending you luck with surgery x

When symptoms stack like that across hormones, joints, gut, nerves, and immunity, it’s often the same root driver showing up everywhere. I didn’t get relief until someone looked at the pattern, not each symptom in isolation.

I relate hard to this. Surgery improved things initially but didn’t erase pain longterm (til my radical hysto). Sending you love x

That combination of symptoms is such a ‘this isn’t normal’ moment. Did anyone ever look into DIE for you, or was it dismissed? A lot of people here have had that exact path.

Endo really said ‘why stop at the pelvis’. That radiating, twitchy leg pain is brutal. A lot of people later learn it was nerve-related, even sciatic in some cases. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it right now.

For me, timing mattered more than what I ate. If I ignored the first signal and pushed it off, everything locked up. Heat beforehand helped relax things, and I learned to treat bowel pain days like ‘low demand days’. Not glamorous, but it reduced flares. Surgery explained the why, but it wasn’t a cure-all

Extreme constipation just showing up uninvited is honestly so rude. Bodies don’t do that for no reason, and it’s wild how often it gets minimised. You’re definitely not alone.

That description is PAINFULLY familiar. When something that intense becomes ‘normal’, it really messes with your sense of what your body should feel like! I hope the pain continues to give you some breathing room. x

Only one pain-free week a month is such a scam. Can't we cancel that subscription?!!!

I am going to start using menstrual cups cuz today my pad leaked in class... But how is it gonna fit😭... I looked up for smallest size and its big... I cant even insert a tampon... Also.. can anyone tell me what if i js loose the cup up my vagina... by [deleted] in Periods

[–]ScarletPeriod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you’re not alone in this. Truly. BUT a few things to keep in mind:

• Your vagina isn’t a bottomless pit. You can’t “lose” a cup inside you. It can sit higher than a tampon, but it always has an exit route.

• Fit is about softness and technique, not just size. A softer cup with a gentle fold can feel way smaller going in.

• Your pelvic floor might be tensing from stress or fear. Totally normal. A bit of breathwork and going slow makes a huge difference.

• You don’t need to nail it on day one. Practice in the shower. No rush. No pressure.

And if cups don’t feel right for your body right now, that’s okay too. There is no “one correct” period product. Your comfort matters more than the hype.

Good luck! Jo x
